Drip drop drip drop. Carol opened her eyes and squinted adjusting to the light. Despite the fact it was raining there was still sunlight peaking behind the clouds. She quickly took in her surroundings, recognized the forest she was currently standing in. It was outside the walls of Alexandria about 3 miles or so. She had been here before when she had been scouting outside the walls. She sighed closing her eyes enjoying the peace and silence.

"Carol!" Carol eyes snapped open instantly recognizing the voice of Maggie. However, it was more than then her voice that forced Carol to open her eyes. It was the urgency and fear in her voice that caught Carol's attention. With her eyes fully open she took in the sight behind her. Maggie was being held captive by a blonde man with a horribly burnt face. The man roughly shoved a gun into Maggie's head as he glared at her, before turning his sights to Carol. "You goanna draw your gun or not?" He snarled at Carol. Carol looked down to realize she was holding a gun in her hand. She quickly rose her arms and aimed at the stranger. He snickered, "you don't have the guts" He cocked his gun and continued to shove her harder into the side of Maggie's head. "Carol, shoot him," Maggie pleaded, her eyes filled with tears. Carol stared at the stranger when she noticed her own hands shaking. "No….I.. Can't…..Maggie, I don't want to kill…anym" Boom! Carol was interrupted by the sound of the gun going off. She looked up just in time, as she saw her friend's body fall lifeless to the ground. The man with the burnt face laughed. "What did I tell you? You don't have the guts." Carol clicked her teeth together in an attempt to hold back a scream. She needed to stay calm and composed. However her eyes betrayed her, as her tears fell. Not able to hold back anymore, Carol sobbed falling to her knees. "Maggie…. I'm Sorry, I'm Sorry…" Carol repeated as shocked violently sobbing, her tears landing delicately on the leafs under her knees, she heard the soft crunch of leaves as the burnt man walked to stand directly above her. "Maybe you can sorry to her in heaven" he snickered as he pulled as he pulled the trigger.

Boom! The sound of the gun echoed. Carol gasped loudly for air, as she sat up in bed. She shivered holding herself as she continued to shake, not only from her cruel and realistic dream, but from the open window, that Tobin had left open in his bedroom. She panted replaying the dream in her mind. It was as she feared, she could only help those she loved if she was willing to kill for them. The realization of this had never been clearer then it was to her right now. Was she being selfish? Not wanting to kill? Did it mattered that every time she killed, she felt a little piece of her leave? She glanced over to the sleeping man on her right. He was sound asleep, he had not been woken up by her violent emergence into the real world. Carol sighed as she got out of bed.

Before she knew what she was doing she was packing, and had written a not for Tobin. She quietly sneaked out of the house and walked to the back corner of the wall around Alexandria. There, was a tree, she could use to climb up and over the wall. Carol climbed the tree and sat on the wall. She looked back over her shoulder one last time, before making up her mind, and pushing off of the wall and falling to the other side of the wall. It may have been just a few feet, but to Carol, she already felt like she was on the side of the world.
