Just a Facade

It's so hard to let go

As Lilly entered platform 9¾, she couldn't stop herself from searching for Sev. They hadn't spoken together since the incident a few months ago.

She could still hear him call her that – that - name. NO! She didn't want to think about it. This was her new chance. She could finally get over that boy. That greasy, mean, ugly, wonderful boy.

The boy who first told her about Hogwarts and magic. The boy she never stopped loving. AARRGH!! Why couldn't she stop thinking about him? She desperately wanted a new chance, so why couldn't she let go?

She saw him through the fog. He was standing all alone, he looked so miserable. The way he always looked when she wasn't near him.

A year ago, she would have just walked up to him. Now she forced herself to look away.

"Hey Lilly! Over here!" Thankful for a distraction from Sev, she went over to her overenthusiastic friend, Marry Colt.

" Oh my GOD it has been like FOREVER!!" Lilly smiled at her friend. "It has only been a month since I left your house. You couldn't possibly have missed me that much." She said.

Lilly and Mary had spent the beginning of the summer together with their other best friend Alice.

Marry kept talking her usual babble, but Lilly wasn't listening. She had caught a glimpse of a beautiful black-haired boy. She knew it was only a matter of time, before James Potter saw her too.

And then he would definitely ask her out. And she would say some witty remark, and then she would spend the entire trip talking about, what a brat Potter was.

She really needed it. She needed to pretend like everything was okay, like she didn't miss her greasy friend. And she needed to do it now. But why wasn't Potter looking her way? Why hadn't he asked her out yet?

" Hey Lilly are you even listening? Hello?" Lilly felt like she just woke up from a deep sleep. She had forgotten all about Marry.

"Sorry Mary. I guess I just zoned out for a minute. You were saying?" "Never mind. Speaking of minds, what is on yours?" Lily looked at Potter for a short moment, and then on Sev. "Oh, its like that. Well that potter-boy won't be bothering you anymore. Rumor has it, that he is seeing someone."

For a moment, Lily forgot all about Sev. This was good gossip. "Who?" She asked feeling curios.

"Narcissa Black!"
