A/N: Another drabble (I'm really starting to get into this short and sweet business). Definitely spoilery for S4, not betaed (again) just for fun. Just a little conversation I thought up whilst doing the dishes. Enjoy!

Disclaimer: I own a computer and a television. That is all. :/After Tomorrow

"Hey, uh…you ever think about what's gonna happen next?" Dean asks, giving way too much focus to his breakfast burrito.

"Um…check out?" Sam's slightly confused.

"No, I mean, if…when we die, where do you think we'll end up?" He still won't meet Sam's eyes.

Sam's a bit caught off guard, having given quite a considerable amount of thought to this very question himself but never expecting it from his live-in-the-moment brother. "Well…seeing as an angel felt it necessary to pull you out of Hell, I'm guessing somewhere Upstairs."

"Ha, right. And what about you?" Dean doesn't seem to believe it, and Sam isn't surprised. He hates that he's not surprised. He also hates this question.

Lie to Dean, and himself, or tell the most-likely truth and deal with that crapload of consequences? He settles for a non-answer somewhere in the middle. "I don't know…We've both saved a lot of people, right? And killed a lot of demons." And been tainted and sold and stolen and blasphemous…and used unnatural demonic abilities against the advisement of a few angels. Or maybe that's just Sam.

"So did Dad. And you didn't answer the question."

"Dad made a deal, that's totally different. The place you're supposed to go and the place you're forced to for payment are not the same thing. Besides, he got out and went somewhere, right?" Sam still won't answer.

Dean seems to mull this over for a few seconds, before finally looking up at his little brother with more pain in his eyes than anyone would be comfortable with. "Hell's not a place I wanna be, Sammy. It's not a place I want you to be."

"I told you, there's no way you're going back there, Dean." There's silence for a moment before Sam nudges his brother's shoulder and gives a wry smile. "And don't worry about it. If I go to Hell, it'll be as their ruler."

"That is so not funny."

Sam doesn't think so either.
