Written mostly as a challenge, with, I think, some unusual pairings.
In Parallel
There is something about him, so different and yet so much the same.
There is something about her, so different and yet so much the same.
A hanyou.
A priestess.
One who wants the jewel to become a full youkai.
One who wants the jewel to make it cease to be.
One willing to kill and maul and rip and tear and shred and do just about anything to get it.
One willing to face any odds, any youkai, even death and the loss of loved ones, to get it.
So similar in body, though the appearance is not.
So similar in appearance, though the body is not.
And yet… that passion he learned makes all the difference. And yet… though still a hanyou, he is the embodiment of an ideal.
And yet… that passion that drives her makes all the difference. And yet… though dead, she is the embodiment of an ideal.
It is what makes hating him impossible. It is what makes loving him inevitable.
It is what makes hating her unattainable. It is what makes loving her inescapable.
And when they meet, he can do nothing but watch and wish.
And when the other interferes, she can to nothing but hope and wait.
The wanting burns him.
The wanting consumes her.
And so, in the end, the jewel and all the hopes and dreams attached to it don't matter, and he goes to him and Inuyasha and Naraku are one.
And so, in the end, the past and the future and duty don't matter, and she goes to her, and Kikyou and Kagome are one.
