Charlie had just reached the outskirts of Forget-Me-Not Valley. He was beginning his new life as a farmer with his father's old friend Takakura. He jumped out of the haul of the pick-up, and turned to the driver, who made an "Oh…" sound.
"Yes?" Charlie asked the dark haired driver.
"Take-care-of c-c-c-"
"…What?"
"COWS, Charlie. Watch your cows."
Charlie looked at him with much confusion. "W-was that a treat?"
And with out a reply, he drove of leaving dust in Charlie's face.
He coughed and turned around to find a body lying on the ground under an oak tree. With a gasp, he ran to the body's aid.
"Are you okay, little guy?" it was a dog with pointy ears lying perfectly still in the dirt.
"GOTTCHA-CHA!!"
A man with black, spiky hair had jumped down from a branch above him. He had skinny, stick-like arms and legs attached to a bean shaped body wearing a white blood stained lab coat.
"Who the f-"
A net had fallen down on his head and began electrocuting him. The man made what sounded like a hiccup, and ran over to get a closer look at his "catch".
"MY HEAD HURTS!!"
"OOOOOAAAAAHHHH—" He belched loudly. "Mmm… excuse me. Now as I was saying… I am so sorry!" He pressed a button on a tiny remote and the electricity stopped flowing through the net. "I thought you were-"
"Daryl…" A voice called from behind. "What have you done?! He's my partner on the farm!"
"Oh. Well, okay. Good luck with that." He walked off deeper into the Valley.
"Charles, are you okay?" The old man asked, helping him up. "That was Daryl, our resident douche. Stay away from him if you want to live."
Charlie twitched.
"C'mon. I'll show you the village."
They walked up a hill.
"That there is the bar. Muffy and Griffin stay there. There are two families over there," He pointed up to the sky, "That's our farm, Celia,Vesta, and some Elvis kid lives there," He pointed at himself, "A hippie lives over there...An 'artist'-" He made air-quotes with his fingers and then muttered, "art looks about as good as cow shit. And theres some twin midgets in that sky tower." He took a breath. "And theres a hotel over there. BUT YOU! You live on the farm."
"So...I take it you're, Takakura?" Charlie asked.
Takakura turned to him and said, "Naw, I'm John..."
Charlie watched the old man stumble drunkily down the hillside. He then took himself into town.
