Title: Fairy Gold
Rating: G
Word count: 150
Characters/pairings: Gibbs, Jack, the crew.
The Pearl bobs wary off the English coast. A rare trip to colder waters, and there's a bite in the air and an unwholesome mist obscuring the shoreline. Gibbs' voice takes on an ominous quaver as he regales the circle gathered topside, eyes rolling.
"Keep a sharp eye in these waters-but mind ye, not too sharp. The smugglers hereabouts tell of the white ships." An irritable snort at the blank gazes that meet him. "The ships of the good people. If you see them, be sure that ye don't let on, for they'll take you to their caverns beneath the earth. Ankle-deep in treasure, so they say, but no use in layin' a hand on any of it, for fairy gold vanishes soon's it gets out into the world of men."
A little crack in the clouds. Aloft, Jack Sparrow grins a gleam up at the stars, and knows different.
