My life was always supposed to be just normal.

Everyday was normal. Drag myself out of bed in the morning. Get to work on time. Save babies. Go home. Get drunk crash into bed somewhere along the way. Repeat.

I am a normal person who lives with regrets. Like sleeping with Mark, yeah at first I regret it now I have realized that it is something Derek and I had to go through. We needed to hurt each other so we could grow up finally and learn from our mistakes, and thanks to my wonderful stubbornness, some lessons are extremely hard to learn.

I got up that morning thinking maybe today would be the day when I finally figure out exactly how I feel about certain men in my life…Alex or Mark. As I did my hair into the bun I had perfected so many years ago, I contemplated the difference between my "Intern" and my "booty call." Both were ruggedly handsome and very egotistical, but who would better keep them in line than a fiery red head?

I once again got ready for work wearing my green channel top that made my eyes stick out, my black skirt, that made Mark go nuts (ah the fun tricks I can play on him? He was dumb to make that 60 day bet, but so was I.), and of course the heels. Never could leave home without my Manolo Blahniks.

As I traipsed through the halls of Seattle Grace, I thought about the day's surgeries and all that would entail. "Hey Miranda," I said to the shorter resident. Despite her height, Miranda Bailey could easily be considered ten feet tall at the hospital. She could bring down Derek, Mark, the Chief, and Burke, with the way she carried herself. I always admired her because of it.

"Hello Dr. Montgomery." Miranda replied as she shuffled through the charts that were before her. We were shortly joined by Derek, "Good Morning Ladies!" I could see the bright and shiny getting on Miranda's nerves. "Good Morning Derek." I replied quickly so that Miranda could not make a comment that would upset him.

"Addison, I have a peds patient with a subdural hematoma and CF. Any chance I could get you to take a look?"

"Sure, do you want to go now since I am free?" I replied curious as to how a child got a subdural hematoma and has Cystic Fibrosis.

As I followed Derek, I looked over the chart the child had been hospitalized twice in the last year, and was doing really well since then. The child was only five years old.

"Good Morning Mr. Pearson, I would like you to meet Dr. Montgomery she has a specialty in cystic fibrosis, so she will be helping on Maddy's case." Derek said.

"Nice to meet you Dr. Montgomery, you can call me James. I am sorry you cant meet my wife she went to go get some coffee. Let's just say she isn't really a morning person." James said just as any nervous father would say.

"Yea, we like to call her Grump Bucket in the morning before she gets her coffee." The small girl said laughingly. I noticed the small girl looked vaguely familiar, but could quite place it so I just assumed it was because of the very handsome father standing right next to the child.

"Maddy, be nice." A feminine voice said behind me, "cause if you aren't you may have to deal with a very mean grump bucket one morning." The woman strode over to the bed with her back to me and began to lightly tickle the little child. The first thing I noticed is that there were three women in the room with red hair. "Alright mom, I will be nice I promise. Cross my heart." The young woman turned around a gasp escaped her lips. I was suddenly thrown back into my past, and we were both overcome with the shock of seeing the past before us.

"Mom…"
