Two year old Obi-Wan Kenobi came running into the kitchen where his Master was. "Hi, Mater," he said quietly. "Can I have some of feh thries?"

"Feh thries?" Qui-Gon repeated with a smile. He knew what the small Padawan meant, but he wanted to teach Obi-Wan the difference between the TH sound and the F sound. "Obi-Wan, I believe it's the fries."

"Yeah. Dats what I said."

"No you said feh thries. It's the fries."

"Dats what I said."

"That's what I said," Qui-Gon corrected with another smile. "Bite your tongue and then say TH."

Obi-Wan did as his Master instructed. He bit his tongue. "Feh," he said after biting his tongue.

Qui-Gon sighed. "No, you're supposed to bite your tongue and say it at the same time."

"But, Mater, that hurts when I bited my tongue."

Qui-Gon smiled. "Well, it's said THE and FRIES. You're just switching the sounds."

"Dats what I said!" Obi-Wan insisted. "I said feh thries."

"No. That's not how it's said. Put your tongue between your teeth and say TH."

Obi-Wan stuck out his tongue. "Wike dis?"

Qui-Gon rolled his eyes. "Yes, that's it. That's exactly how to do it, Obi-Wan."

The small Padawan smiled broadly. "Can I have some of feh thries?" he asked again.

Qui-Gon sighed in defeat. It wasn't worth it. Obi-Wan wouldn't learn it. He was only two years old. He would just have to learn on his own.

Okay. That's it. I tried to teach my younger sister that when she was around two or three. She got so confused. So I was remembering that and thought it would be a cute story. Please review!
