Hi readers! I'm excited because Soundwave/human fics are rare. He's my new interest from TF Prime. I mean, G1- present Soundwave has been great and all but to my own preferences he's gotten progressively worse. But TF Prime totally rectified themselves with this Soundwave, he's amazingly bad ass! The first few chapters are an unfolding plot and purpose. It's a delicate balance because Soundwave is hard to depict immediately ... be aware that I began this story in the middle of Season 2, and that's why you won't see poor Starscream in this fic. Sorry Scream-fans :/ Though, I have been tempted to write him back in... leave a comment if you'd like to see that happen! If I get enough.. maybe I will:) ..Anyway..on with it! -K ;)

Ch 1: Abduction

"Soundwave..."

A buzz and footsteps shuffled across the bridge. A delivery had just arrived. A little late, but there was nothing to be done about that now. Megatron, leader of the Decepticons, watched his top communications officer glide slowly over to him, and next to his large, silver foot joint was a scared and anticipating mammal.

Soundwave approached his master delicately, as always. He nodded and knelt before him.

"We've got our delivery, late as can usually be expected. Get her started immediately with no waste. You already know your command over the girl, her linguistics..."

Soundwave gave his leader a slight nod, indicating that yes, he remembered their briefing.

Megatron glanced down at the top of the shaggy and disheveled mess of hair atop the girl's head. He sneered as he did so. He had a plan, he didn't like it, but it seemed like the simplest way to retaliate. The human, her hands bound behind her back with a white cord and her feet bound with the same cord had stopped struggling long ago, and now was looking to seek comfort on the hard, metal ground by shifting her weight between her knee and ankle joints which felt painfully boney against the rigid floor.

Soundwave lowered his head to look her over, she didn't look as smart as they had said, but so she was.

"Take her to the gateway room and get her situated. With the living arrangements complete, I see no reason to let her loiter here." Megatron watched as Soundwave scooped up the girl with his tentacles, and roll her into his grasp, never bending lower himself.

Soundwave listened as his master spoke as he walked away.

"If the Autobots can employ the help of the indigenous life, so can we." He chuckled, "What a day it will be though if we succeed in all of our goals with this human on board. MECH won't ever know what hit them..." He smirked. Soundwave nodded as he headed down the corridor.

Kirsten's mouth had been duct taped, by MECH, whom her university professor was working with, little had she known that her University studies would bring her here, unforeseen.

It had been nearly 5 years since the Cybertronians outed themselves to the human's world, publicly. After they had made their presence known on Earth for all of the humans to see, the research started, the transcriptions began, and science proceeded. Kirsten had an affinity for linguistics, and when she had the chance to study the transcriptions and translations of the Cybertronian language under the supervision and apprenticeship of the award-winning liguist and logistics professor at her university, she became his student in hopes that her knowledge and passion would push her further ahead than anyone in the field. And it did. What she didn't know was, he worked for MECH, who had built secret bonds with the Decepticons. He saw the passion in her, and took advantage of it; like any good MECH follower would do.

When MECH had abducted her it was 2:56 am. They taped her mouth shut first and then bound her hands. Graciously, they sat her down and quickly explained what was about to happen. After listening unwillingly to their proposition, she hesitated as her hands became palmy with fear. She wasn't exactly given an ultimatum so she nodded her head in agreement in fear of a worse outcome. They silently fled from her small apartment at 3 am and she had bee blindfolded until they had sent her through the swirling green light that transported her to the Decepticon's battleship. She had a small bruise on her lip that came from a sharp corner that the MECH vehicle took that slammed her against the side panel.

Kirsten's hair bounced loosely on her head with Soundwave's steps until they reached the room she was to be bound to for some length of time.

Her eyes darted around the corridor in fear and amazement, her nostrils flared with each breath and her hands became clammy. A door opened at Soundwave's arrival and he entered. Gently, he put her down on the cold floor and unbound her hands and feet with a small laser from his wrist. She tugged at the loose cords and then rubbed her wrists nursing the small red impressions. She grabbed one end of the duct tape and ripped it off her face. She winced and groaned at the sharp, but quick pain. She took a few deep breaths, and began to wheeze. The air wasn't suited for her at this level. Though they still floated in the atmosphere, it was thin and oxygen was more scarce.

Soundwave made his way to the main computer screen in the room and tapped away. Kirsten kneeled with her hands and knees on the floor trying to get a deep enough breath, arching her back with every inhale and then exhaling as if she couldn't inhale again fast enough. She then noticed Soundwave was communicating with her professor on screen. As MECH had dragged her through the laboratory where she was transported to the Decepticon ship, she could hear his voice, though she never saw him behind the blindfold.

"Kirsten! I'm glad you made it, meet Soundwave, your new authority and tutor." His sharp face smiled from the screen, his green eyes glowed mercilessly and his prickly beard moved with his fake smiles.

"Soundwave, she may need oxygen at first until her red blood cell count gets higher. I sent some through the ground bridge with the other items. Kirsten, you may find it all there behind you, is there anything you need?"

Kirsten turned her head sideways to look at his face on the screen, a dazed and confused look growing on her face. How could he ask such a question. She needed lots of things! For one, a little more time to prepare perhaps? How about a heater, she thought, it was uncomfortably cold.

"Just breathe slowly, the altitude is high. We've tried to make your stay as nice as possible, look behind you and you will find a bed and simple facilities." Kirsten looked around to where he motioned and there was a small twin-sized bed with a blanket, a ground toilet, and a stock of canned soup and water. She puffed and heaved and arched her back like a cat while she took in air, but she couldn't make words yet without feeling like she was about to pass out.

"I think she may experience a syncope episode if she doesn't take in some oxygen..." the professor explained to Soundwave, but his words were cut off short. Soundwave was ready to get to work, and the professor talked too much. The girl knew her duty already and once she was well enough, she would begin to prove her worth. Eventually, she would start off transcribing war materials and mechanics from Cybertronian to English for MECH, in return for a promise of privacy and confidentiality from Earth's governments. But Soundwave planned on keeping a close watch on her work and abilities. He had his own plans for her, having let MECH do all the footwork in finding such a linguist, and now the Decepticons would benefit from their obliviousness. He would use her to expose MECH's failing loyalty to their agreement. He had calculated the time it would take for her to transpose documents, and if he met the goals he set for her, he soon would let her know the true reason behind allowing her to come on board the private, and secretive Nemesis. He left the room, and let her rest.

Kirsten took the private time to collapse on the floor and roll onto her back. Her arms came up to cover her face and she panted deeply with all of the thoughts going through her head. Oh god, what did she just agree to do? What did she do to get into this situation? How will she explain this to her parents? Does the government know? Will they send the police after her? Her head swirled and pictures circumstances where her name was plastered on the front page of news sources, or where her friends would talk to each other after a few years had passed, discussing 'whatever happened to Kirsten?'...She was pissed, and tired...and she eventually did fade into a sleep; a light, confusing, non-comforting sleep.

Soundwave, for the first time, was unsure. He would never admit it. Not even to himself. He had never worked with a human before and didn't plan on making it a long-term event, but he was open enough to see what could be accomplished with her on board. He shook his head slowly from side to side with head step, running over statistics and calculations that he had already done a million times. If MECH was to get the blueprints to their weaponry, he would have to make sure a human did it so they wouldn't suspect tampering. If they were to tamper with the constructions before she transposed them, upon building them, they would know, and find out because it wouldn't work. But time would be the only way to find out if she could be scared into submission so that on that day when they put their plans to retaliate into action, she would already be working for him.
