A/N: I should probably be working on my other story, but its 4 am and there's a thunderstorm going on outside. Which has given me this wonderful idea! Enough of this though, on with the story.
Flash, flash, CRA-CK. Hermione flung off her covers and ran down into the common room, comforted by the light of the fire. She sat down on the couch, shivering as the storm continued outside the window. Her teeth were chattering and the fire was dying quickly. She put her head in her hands and jumped as the lighting struck again.
"Granger, are you ok?" Hermione freaked out and turned around to see Draco standing in his doorway, awoken by the storm. His hair was falling into his face and the dying fire cast a pale glow over his skin. He walked down into the common room, sitting next to her on the couch.
"I...I'm fine..." Hermione stuttered, squeaking when the thunder rumbled. Draco tilted his head, smiling at her as she shivered.
"Sure about that?" He smirked. With a shiver she nodded.
"Yeah, I'm fine." She looked around for a blanket or some matches, something to keep her warm, when Draco slid an arm around her and pulled her close.
"You shouldn't have come down here without a blanket; you're going to freeze to death." He shifted her so that she was sitting on his lap.
"What are you doing?" She shivered again as her body began to warm up.
"I'm keeping you warm, what does it look like?" Their bodies radiating heat which the other fed on. An endless cycle of warmth. Shivers and a smile. Shifting until they lay beside each other on the couch and finally drifting off to sleep.
Some childhood fears never die. No one knew it but Hermione Granger was scared of thunderstorms. None knew it but Draco Malfoy was afraid of being alone.
A/N: Yeah, I'm going to go back to bed. Good (checks time) Morning everybody!
