The following text was taken from a manuscript discovered recently beneath the Palace of the Kings in Windhelm , and with a listed date of the year 982 of the First Era it is evidently quite ancient. An Imperial by the name of Caius Antonius gives his name to recording the tale, and writes that he transcribed the story from a Nordic skald who knew the story as it was passed down from his predecessors for generations dating back to the time of Ysgramor. As with any oral tradition, changes have been made over time, and many historical details remain questionable. Still, scholars believe that the Saga of Haggr is rooted in real history, and stands as a shining example of the legends of the Nords.
