In all of the stories Malon read, a heroic prince rescued the princess. Though she had always been told by her father that the stories were unrealistic, it wasn't until years later that she learned how true his words were.
There were no stories about brave, beautiful princesses (in disguise) rescuing and helping poor farm girls. Nor did the tales discuss the princess helping the farm girl fight. In stories, royalty had the strength to fight alone.
But Zelda, as powerful as she was, couldn't do this alone.
Times had changed.
Now, both women had to write their own stories.
