Lovely pink hair wisps in the wind. Bright emerald eyes gaze into the cloudy, dark sky. Petite feet dangle off the edge, swinging in rhythm of the wind.

She sighs, twirling strands of her unique hair in her slender fingers. In the distance, a loud rumble thunders the sky, noting that a big storm was on its way.

She doesn't care.

Sitting at the edge, she stares at the sky, thinking if the sun would ever come out. The sky gets darker and darker, but she still hopes.

"It's getting chilly," she notes, without turning around to see who was standing a few feet behind her, watching her carefully. "A storm is on its way."

As expected, there is no reply.

"I'm actually surprised you came, Sasuke. Why would you leave your team to find me?"

She doesn't need to turn around to know that the said man has narrowed his dark, dark eyes at her back. Finally, he speaks.

"Shouldn't you be trying to convince me to come home?"

"No." Her answer is truthful, because she's really not. Not anymore. "If you want to come home, you can come home on your own. I'm not going to force you into anything anymore."

"Hn."

"But why are you here, Sasuke? Did you think I was going to attack your team?" And once again, no answer. She smiles to herself, stands up, and glances ahead. The sky was getting darker and darker, thunder rumbling louder and louder.

"I want to ask you something, before I go," she says quietly. She turns and faces him.

His dark eyes give away nothing, and he seemed unbothered by the harsh wind whipping his longish hair around. He pale skin seemed even brighter in the dark, and she then decides that he's beautiful. Like a fallen angel.

She stands, with her back facing the wide canyon behind her. Her feet are right at the edge, so, so close to falling, but she doesn't seem to notice.

"Sasuke," she starts, spreading her arms out wide, "If I fall, will you catch me?" He doesn't answer. "Would you care? Or are you already in too deep to care?" she asks.

And when he doesn't answer, a small, sad smile graces her lips. She glances at the sky once more, only to be greeted by a pitch-black sky. "Okay," she whispers, closing her eyes.

Without warning, she teeters backwards.

Wind whooshes in her hair, and she's falling… falling… falling…

Suddenly, everything's bright. Blinding light fills the sky, and for a minute she thinks she's dead. For a minute she's bathed in an oasis of sadness and relief, floating weightlessly towards the magnificent palace amongst the clouds.

Until a strong, lean arm tightens around her waist.

Her gorgeous green eyes shot open in surprise, only to be greeted by -concerned? Relieved? -onyx ones.

Everything dawns to her just then; he'd caught her. She wasn't floating- she was cradled in his arms, and he was flying through the trees, trying to find shelter.

He'd caught her.

A burning happiness blooms through her chest, igniting her face in a small smile.

"Sasuke?" she mumbles, still looking at him. He takes a final leap and lands gracefully under a tall tree, but he doesn't put her down.

"Sasuke? Why did you…?"

He looks at her before turning away. "Don't ask questions you know the answers to," he says coolly. He sits down, and with her still in his lap, he leans back against the tree. She smiles and leans her head against his warm, hard chest.

"Thank you," she whispers, and smiles, because the storm has passed. The sun had come out.

Note: This is just one of those spontaneous one-shots that plague my mind until I write (type) it out. It's so hard to do homework with an idea practically screaming to get outta your head (and I've got tons of homework that's gotta get done). So yeah.

Much love!
