"If I were the Wind…"
By: SerinaNitsugasumi
The moon shone brightly that night. Everyone in Seireitei is already sleeping and so the night was quiet. The winds that blew fiercely earlier have quieted down, like as if it also slept through the night. The crickets aren't making so much noise either. Everything is just so peaceful. Everyone is already resting, all except for one. Rukia stared at the bright, shiny moon, thinking of strange thoughts and one other person she cares for most.

If I were the wind that joins two Worlds as one, will I be able to be with you?
Strange thoughts ran through her head. Since when did she love him this much? She stared at the moon visible through her open window. Yes. This is just like the moon she sees on the other side, but there, when she stares at the moon, she is happy because she knows he's just beside her. But this time, things are different. The night before she left would be the last time she would see him.
She ran her hands against the iron bars the blocked her path. Indeed, she would never set sight on him again. The only thing she could do now is to cherish her memories with him and rekindle the moments they have together.
Why, why does it all have to end this way? She felt tears streaming down her face. He reminds her so much about the first man she ever loved. The man whom she killed with her own two hands. She shut her eyes upon remembering such a painful memory.
Ichigo. I wish you're alright. I wish you the best things in life. They have already sentenced me execution and therefore, I might not live to see you once again. I just wish that you be freed from your sufferings and live peacefully for a long time.
Yes. She would gladly sacrifice her life to save Ichigo. But why? Why does she feel this way towards him?
Then suddenly, she knew the answer. She loves him. She loves him more than her own life that she is willing to die for him. She knew it, the very moment she set eyes in him, she knew that he would be her weakness, yet, she did nothing.
I guess that's how it is to love. A true love without any boundaries.
