Nice Guys
Disclaimer: I don't own Degrassi, or the characters or anything related to the production of the show.
She's dated guys like Drew before, guys willing to change themselves, dress up in fancy suits and combs their hair that certain way she likes, but she's been down that road and had left with bruises marring her face and arms.
She's staring at blue-blue eyes and she knows that this isn't a phase or a mood swing. It's about time she realized that nice guys are worth more than just a number to never call or a lipstick stain to trigger jealousy. About time she noticed that guys like Adam are the rare ones, that he's a penny in a stack of Drews, and jerks like Bobby.
Some people stare and pass snide remarks behind her backs, pretending that she doesn't notice. But even tamed tigers know how confined a cage is, so she straightens her back and lets them talk, because she's been subjected to too many rumours to be broken now. And a part of her knows that he's worth all the gossip in the world, despite it being a social-suicide.
With a shy smile up, her heart shakes when she spots the object to her affection juggling books from his locker.
Maybe he's not her type. He's got pale skin and scars stitched inside and out. Cropped locks of soft browns that look as if they belong to someone else, mopping his head and eyes too soft to be the eyes of a man. Yet it's the warm smoothness of his palms that sooth her, and it's the way his shoulders brush easily against hers as they walk side by side. It's all the opposites from other boys that made her stomach spring forth and do hurls. Every mistake he thinks god cursed him with are what draws her in so quickly, and its all so new and ultimately different.
But maybe different is exactly what she needs.
A chance to change and grow, because she's so desperate to start anew after all the shit with Bobby went down. And she thinks that Adam might be the perfect start to a new Fiona.
As his kind, gentle blue eyes meet hers finally; he forgets about classes and books all for her, and smiles. She knows he's worth every sneer and jib because he's perfect and maybe this time she can be perfect too, as he offers up his arm for her to take, she smiles back honestly.
Sometimes good guys don't finish last, especially not one like Adam Torres.
Author's notes: My first Degrassi Fic and honestly a new comer to the show, but watched most of it. I know this is totally AU but whatever, let me have my fun.
