Hey guys, here's a new story for you. Tell me how you like it and if I should keep going.

"God I hate steakouts."

"Me too Slick, but we're not out here because it's fun we're here because it's important.

Nearly two months after Nick Wilde became a police officer the excitement of getting the job had started to wear off and he began to notice all of the little annoying parts of his new work.

"I think i'm starting to regret becoming a cop."

"Stop being so dramatic, you're telling me that you'd rather not be Zootopia's first fox police officer?" That title feeds your ego way too much for you to ever drop it,"

"I'm appalled you think so little of me Carrots." Nick smirked sarcastically with shades over his eyes."

"The only appalling thing here is how you wear those things at night, it makes you look like a Jackass."

"You wound me Carrots, and i'll have you know, they're not things these my sweet little bunny are aviators."

"Whatever you say Slick." Judy dismissed.

Anyway Jude, you wanna have a movie night or something this weekend? Im free saturday and we have monday off work so we'll even have a couple of days to sleep in."

"Yah sounds fun, can we do it at your house?" Nick having a two story house to himself, Judy often preferred to spend time at his home rather than her apartment due to the size difference and slight amount of embarrassment she felt.

"Actually Carrots I was thinking that maybe we could go to your place this time. Its pretty cozy and its even a little closer to the precinct." Hearing this caught the bunny a little off guard since she assumed her partner enjoyed showing off his home to mammals.

"Well I suppose but like you said, we have a couple of days to sleep in and do other things so I don't think distance really matters much especially a small one. Plus I only have one bed and you always end up sleeping either on the floor or the couch." Little to the rabbits knowledge Nick had been plotting to set up this conversation in this specific way which would give him the perfect opportunity to slip in some subtle flirting.

"I wasn't aware it was illegal to share a bed. Maybe we should try it this time. Who knows, we might have more fun than we planned for. Nick mentally pat himself on the back for coming up with something he considered to be exceptionally seducing.

"Ha, I don't think so slick. I'd sooner share a bed with a cactus."

"You sure do know how to make a guy feel special Carrots." Nick responded plainly.

An almost awkward silence filled the air of the patrol car as the two sat, waiting for a crime to be committed. As the duo finished their shift they began to head back to precinct one so that they could return the car and head home. As the reached their destination Nick started complaining about how they still had one more day of work until it was finally the weekend and they could spend quality time together. This of course was followed by Judy commenting on how her partner seemingly never stopped complaining about their schedule.

"Alright Fluff, you can hand over the keys while I go to the bathroom, then we can hit the road and do it all again tomorrow."

"Ok." Judy replied simply.

While Nick entered the bathroom he couldn't help but think about what Judy had said earlier while they were on patrol. I'd sooner share a bed with a cactus than with you. Her voice clouded the foxes brain.

"It was just a joke, It's not like she was being serious." Nick whispered to himself quietly."

"How did it go Hopps?"

"We didn't find anything suspicious Chief. Just another boring day on the job."

"Watch it Hopps, trust me, you'll come to enjoy the quiet days soon enough. Now give me the keys to the patrol car and go home, I still have work I need to finish and I don't want to have to pay you for overtime." Some time later Nick and Judy said their goodbyes for the night and went their separate ways. While Judy was resting in her bed she held her secret fox plush toy close and thought about how the day had gone. The entire reason why she had bought a stuffed fox was to comfort her during her last trip to Bunny Burrows to help compensate for Nick not being there. Only now it seemed to remind Judy about what had happened while the two had been on patrol. Judy cringed as she thought back to what happened.

"Ha, I don't think so slick. I'd sooner share a bed with a cactus."

"You sure do know how to make a guy feel special Carrots." Something about that response didn't feel right to Judy however she was much too tired to figure it out then, and without realizing, she fell asleep. Meanwhile Nick was having trouble falling asleep himself, flooded with self doubt and regret, he couldn't seem to convince himself of anything reassuring. The fox wasn't used to these feelings of lust and desire, he had never found himself in a situation such as this before. Never having felt these emotions he lacked the experience to know how to deal with them in an reasonable manner. Even with his racing mind Nick was eventually able to catch a fair amount of sleep that night, as restless as it was.
