Chapter 1/1
She would never admit it, but she always read her horoscope when she had the chance.
Tonight was a slow night; she was sitting in the break room with a cup of coffee reading a magazine. She turned the page and found a 2008 horoscope. Her eyes quickly darted to the hallway, she was completely alone.
Her eyes then ran down the lines of the Aries. It spoke of new opportunities; the energy to meet goals and then there was her love life. It told her to finally admit what she had been hiding for so long stating six reasons as to why she should follow her heart instead of what she usually did – her head.
1. You're finally ready to deal with a serious
relationship.
2. Emotionally you've healed past wounds.
3.
You're in control of your own life now.
4. Everyone else can
tell this is for real.
5. You're actually in love this
time.
6. And so is he!
Catherine sighed and sat back placing the magazine on the table of in front of her. She closed her eyes and took a deep breath; her heartbeat had increased with every one of the six reasons.
Suddenly she heard someone come into the room. Her eyes snapped open and she found herself face to face with Gil.
"Cath are you alright?" his worried eyes burned into her.
"Eh... yes," she sat up straight and their heads bumped into each other.
"Awwwwwuh" Her hand came up to caress the sore spot on her forehead, he shakily sat down besides her rubbing his own forehead. She felt tears slowly slide down her cheeks because of the pain that had exploded in her head just seconds ago.
She tried to get up, but felt dizzy all at once. He saw her sway and immediately stood up to support her, only to feel himself grow dizzy. It felt like time stood still and 50 years went by as their eyes connected, but seconds later they crashed onto the floor.
Somehow he managed to turn them around so she landed on top of him, his hands protecting her head, and his arms holding her close and his body shielding her fall.
However, that meant his own body and head hit the ground pretty hard. Then everything grew dark.
"Gil" she managed to get out as soon as she found her bearings. She lifted herself of him and felt fear race through her.
"Gil!" she said as loud as she could with out yelling trying to control her panic.
"GIL" she yelled, not huddled beside him pulling him into her lap.
Warrick and Nick came running into the room. Just then she saw Gil's eyes open slowly and look up into hers. She felt tears of relief slide down her cheeks.
"Don't ever do that again" she scrolled him but couldn't help smiling.
Maybe this was what they needed, a little kick in the head to finally realize they were meant to be.
