Jeff's eyes twinkled as he tucked his youngest in bed to only find his oldest staring right back at him with a sorrowful look on his face. "Scott," Jeff said gloomily "If I unexpectedly go missing or I'm late one day, you'll be in charge okay?"
"Okay dad but I'm not ready for that responsibility yet though farther," Scott said, "I'm only 11 remember?"
"I know son but let's hope it never gets to that time just yet okay?" Jeff said as he looked at Scott "Now why don't you tell me why you're out of bed?"
Scott shifted and his frown only deepened "I'll show you" Scott said his voice barely a whisper
Jeff followed Scott to Scott's bedroom to only find a tarantula sitting on his bed. "Scott, you okay?" Jeff asked his eldest when he saw Scott nearly scream and fidget
"Sorry dad but that's why," Scott said
"Scott it's okay to be terrified of something, " Jeff said while picking the tarantula up
"It is?" Scott said his breathing still quite rapid
"Even if you're the eldest," Jeff said while walking out of Scott's bedroom still clutching the spider
Scott followed him to the front door and he saw Jeff throw the Spider outside before locking up the door.
"Now why don't I tuck you back in bed?" Jeff said
Scott nodded and whispered, "Tomorrow when you go on your testing flight of TV21 will you come back for dinner?"
"Sure I will Scooter" Jeff smiled "And we can have Grandma's apple pie for pudding too"
Scott smiled and headed off to bed. Jeff walked in and kissed his eldest forehead and whispered "Night Scooter, see you tomorrow night"
But Neither knew what exactly was going to happen tomorrow.
