A/N: It's not snowing, it's rainy, windy, horrible and cold. But I wish it was snowing. I felt the need to show some Fred Weasley love.
Today, it began to snow. Tabitha thought it somewhat fitting. The ground was dusted with a light sprinkling of flakes, and as she walked the winding path through the maze of stones her long grey winter travelling cloak scraped the snow away, revealing the grass below. Tabitha made her way over to the apple tree, beneath with he lay.
She knelt down, smiling at the way the snow was swirling around her, it seemed to be dancing happily. In the short time they had known each other, she had learned that above all else, he had loved snow; it made people happy, just as he did.
Snowflakes had begun to settle on her lowered eyelashes, and she reached a hand to brush the snow from the stone in front of her. As she did so, her fingers traced lovingly over the inscription, lingering on the curly F at the beginning and the Y at the end. She glanced down at her left hand. On the finger closest to her little finger, sat a simple plaited silver band; the last thing he ever gave her.
"Hello you," she began quietly, feeling a little silly, "a little part of me thinks that you knew I was coming to visit today and you arranged the snow. Thank you," a tear slid down her cheek, but she smiled warmly, "I'm sorry it's taken me so long to visit. I know you think it's silly of me, but it hurt too much to think about. Everything is so different now. People are so happy and free. Your business is becoming pretty big; that twin of yours is quite the business tycoon, I'm sure you're proud. You sister got married; I saw the announcement in the Prophet. I'm pretty sure there are hundreds of girls out there green with envy at the fact she married Harry Potter. She looked very beautiful and I hear she's expecting your niece or nephew soon,"
The tears Tabitha was fighting to control were flowing freely now. She patted her eyes with the sleeve of her robe, though it did no good, her body was wracked with gut wrenching sobs,
"I'm s-sorry Fred. You wouldn't want me to cry. But it's just not fair. You're not supposed to be here. You were supposed to survive. You were supposed to come back to me. You promised that when the war was over all we'd do is laugh together and be happy. It's just not fair."
A huge gust of wind sent snowflakes whirling all around her, encasing her in white as if hugging her.
"I miss you Freddie." She traced his name once again before sighing. "Now I'm going to stop being all crap and sentimental. I'm just going to sit here and watch the snow with you, because of all the things we never got to do together, this is the one I was most looking forward to."
Tabitha sat with her back against the cold hard stone, gazing out across the graveyard. The snow was beautiful and in her heart of hearts she knew that he had sent it for her. To show his love, to make her happy and most of all: to make her smile.
