This is one of my shorter works, as you can see. Only 480 words. I apologize. I could make it longer, I suppose, but, I kinda like it just the way it is.

Jake Rosenbloom stared blankly at the wall. Amy Cahill had been on his thoughts ever since that moment when she had been injured outside the library in Prague. He was supposed to be looking through margins of ancient manuscripts, looking for the "margin for error." But he wasn't, he was thinking about her, how she'd been locked in an airless room.

She'd nearly died. Suffocated. Both her and her brother. He remembered when she had come out, the relief that washed through him had ben something that he didn't understand.

He remembered the look of anguish on her face, the pain that she was feeling that she didn't want to voice. He remembered how she looked at her brother, caring for him, loving him with all her soul.

But what he remembered most were her beautiful jade green eyes. They were like a bright blade of green grass in a dusty desert. When they glanced at him, he felt his knees go weak. But the thing was, he didn't know why.

Why should he like this beautiful American girl? Crap, she was just so mind-consuming. Jake stopped and looked over to where she was bent over another ancient manuscript. They had been looking for this margin of error for a while, and he was getting bored. His mind was wandering to other topics...her.

Jake glanced over and saw that her face was contorted into a mask of confusion and concentration. He thought about her face when she smiled, the way her eyes crinkled, and her lips drew upward, into a mesmerizing grin. Damm, she was so pretty when she smiled.

Amy glanced up, a look of confusion on her pretty features. Jake couldn't help but notice how her eyes glittered when the light hit them in just the right spot.

She turned to him. "Jake, I think we might have something here. Can you help me?"

Right then, Jake knew he was smitten. He'd do everything he could to help this girl with her problems. He didn't care that she had a boyfriend. The thought didn't even cross his mind. All he knew, was that he had fallen for Amy Cahill, the green-eyed goddess of nerds.

He jumped up, eager to help his love. "Of course." He said. Anything for her.

That quote, "Anything for her." Is from Trust No One, Evan said it about Amy, so I feel kind of bad doing this, with Evan's quote, so I'll write a fanfic in Evan's "memory." Lol.
