She had curves and a mole on her hip. She was had imperfections. Marissa was skin and bones and perfect. She was everything he wasn't and he suddenly wondered why he was ever attracted to her. The only thing is that once you got to know her, Marissa too had had flaws. In fact she was probably more flawed than him or Summer or the two of them combined. She was the tale of "poor little rich girl." It was created for her, and he found himself disgusted with Marissa.

So here he was with her best friend, running his thumb down her face and reflecting on what they had just done. Seth was away at some sailing class or something like that. Ryan hadn't really paid attention when Seth was rambling at breakfast that morning. He glanced at Summer and suddenly realized he wanted to know everything about her. He wanted to feel like they had more than just sex. He wanted to be able to compete with Seth when it came to how much he knew about Summer, even if that competition could never actually be carried out. In the end, it is Seth who would win. Seth would always win.

"Tell me something true."

Summer was taken back by this request but thought for a moment before responding.

"I've seen every episode of The Valley."

Ryan rolled his eyes. "No, tell me something that other people don't know."

Summer thought about this for a moment. "I guess most people do know that. Here's something for you. I refuse to watch the news."

"Really? Why?" Ryan was intrigued.

"The news is depressing and why make the world more depressing than it already is? I mean there are gonna be moments in your day where your life is gonna suck so why get upset about what is happening in like India or something?"

Ryan thought for a moment before replying. "But things that happen other places are important to us. They affect us too."

"Well there is another reason why I don't like watching the news, but you have to promise not to repeat this." After getting Ryan to pinkie promise, Summer whispered "I was afraid OJ Simpson would attack me when I was little so I don't watch the news."

Ryan wasn't sure her heard her right but after asking her repeat it and having her refuse, he knew he had heard her correctly. Suddenly he was laughing, and he hadn't felt this happy in a long time. Looking at the blush on Summer's face, he was certain he was the only one who knew this about Summer, and it made him happy. He had his one little part of Summer that Seth could never touch.
