Don't Let Go

Ginchiyo's face reflects the bright shine of the moon. She gazes at the flowing river in front of her. The battle that will happen the following day will be the final one. After that, the old era will end and a new one will spawn. "Gicnhiyo?" a familiar voice called from behind, Ginchiyo turned around in shock to find her commander standing behind her.

"Lord Mitsunari? What are you doing here in the middle of the night?" Mitsunari walked forward, looking at the scenary and spoke without even facing his general. "The same could apply to you, and please, can you stop being so formal for once?" The two samurais exchanged stares, none spoke and an awkward silence was heard. Turning their backs to each other, they each felt their faces burning hot, hands became damp. Ginchiyo finally gave up and decided to break the silence, "So, tomorrow will be the final battle…"

"Naturally…" There was another awkward silence as the two samurais paced to find something to say. "If we win, we win the land, if we lose, we lose everything…"

"Isn't 'everything' a little aggressive?" Ginchiyo blinked at her commander but he refuses to look at her.

"It is the truth, so I guess we better win…" There was another pause. "If we lose I doubt Ieyasu will let me off..."

Silence.

"That is why I came to tell you something before I regret it..." Mitsunari turned even more to avoid eye contact. "I…" Ginchiyo stares at her commander in surprise, he rarely talks like that. "I love you…" This time, it was Ginchiyo who turned her back, she tried to hide her embarrassment but it showed clearly. "Did Sakon teach you that?" Mitsunari was speechless. "How did you know?" Ginchiyo started walking back to her tent, not giving Mitsunari a reply. "Wait," She continued walking even though she heard him. "Sakon did teach me that but it was not a lie." This time, Mitsuanri stopped her in her tracks.

"Then I guess if we are to lose tomorrow we shouldn't have anything to regret…" Mitsunari wanted to open his mouth to ask Ginchiyo what she meant but she sealed his mouth with her finger.

Before he knew what was happening, Ginchiyo wrapped her arms around his neck and kissed him. He could see clearly that she was flushing. Ginchiyo's lips left his for a moment so that she could speak her mind, "I don't want to have any regrets, hold me tight and… don't let go…" Their lips met again, this time with more force. Mitsunari wrapped his arms around her waist and play with her tongue. He embraced her even more tightly, enjoying himself very much. It felt great to have the feeling of her arms around his neck. He felt her chest pressing against his own, a warm feeling traveled up his body, making him flush even more.

Their lips left each other and Ginchiyo laid her head on Mitsunari's shoulder, closing her eyes in respond to the comfort he is providing. His arms moved up to her back, gently pressing her against his chest, a strong feeling ran through his body, making him feel really satisfied. He ran his hand through Ginchiyo's soft hair and gave her once last peck before letting go."Now I'll have no regrets…" Ginchiyo whispered softly into his ears.
