A/N: These are just some little one shots i've come up with when i've been free writing. I know they are very long, I'm sorry. I'll try to get some longer ones up but i've got like four different stories that i'm toying with so, these are just my little breaks. This one is based off the song, "Lead Me On" by Steve Holy.
She knew it was wrong.
Growing up she'd had it pounded into her that no guy like a tease. But she just didn't have the heart to tell him. With all that he'd been through in the past year, with his undercover mission ending so badly and losing Jenny and then being sent to sea. She just didn't think he could handle another blow.
Plus, she'd be lying if she said she didn't like the attention. It had been a long time since a guy had longed and not lusted after her. And on lonely nights, she wondered what it would be like to have a warm body on the other side of the bed. But then her thoughts would become rational again.
It could never work. Because he was older. Because he was her partner. Because he was a friend. Because he was damaged. Because she didn't love him.
When he insists upon taking her home after the war game mission failed, she tells herself it's because he wants to talk. When he leans in for a kiss at her door, she tells herself it's just a silly crush he'll get over in time. And when he leaves her the next morning, she doesn't tell herself anything; just washes him away while past warnings echo in her head.
