Disclaimer: I own nothing sadly.
The wind was howling as the rain beat down on the lone figure standing in front of the memorial stone. His silver hair flopped listlessly to the side, as silent tears slowly rolled down his cheeks mixing in with the rain. A small shiver worked its way down his spine, as a hand smoothed down the front of his jounin vest shakily. The boy let his feet carry him forward towards the monument, lips forming inaudible words. He fell to his knees at the base of the stone, left hand reaching out to trace two familiar names. 'Hatake Sakumo', 'Uchiha Obito'.
In a broken voice the boy sobbed, "How could you just leave me?"
He cried for a few more moments before standing up. 'At least the Hokage pressured the council into letting him put dad's name on the stone. He did not disgrace the village after all; Obito's sacrifice taught me that.'
The boy pulled a kunai from his weapons pouch and pressed the edge to his wrist. A few drops of red blood welled up along the shallow cut and ran down his arm and dripped to the ground. He pulled the kunai back hissing slightly. "I didn't mean to do that."
A second male voice spoke from behind the monument, "Are you sure about that Kakashi? Are you sure you're not trying to get away from all the pain?"
Kakashi growled, "How dare you hide behind the monument and accuse me of that! If you want to say those things then have backbone to show me who you are!"
"You couldn't hurt me."
Kakashi picked up on the sad tone and whispered, "Who are you?"
"You know who I am Kakashi. Use your head."
The silver haired man thought hard for a moment before his eyes grew to the size of saucers. He stumbled back a few steps and the tears poured heavier as he stuttered out, "O-O-Ob-Obito?"
The shadowy figure of Obito stepped out from behind the memorial stone, his left hand covering the hole where his eyes used to be. "I knew you would need somebody to talk to today."
"How are you here?"
Obito stepped forward, "I knew today was the anniversary of your father's death and I passed a few months ago, so I talked to the shinigami and was granted this night to come back and visit you, but I can't leave this field. "
Kakashi reached out a hand to touch his friend on the shoulder only to have the Uchiha back away shaking his head no. The young jounin wiped the tears off his cheeks before whispering, "I am sorry. If I had been a better ninja you would still be here."
Obito sighed, "My death was not your fault. I would have died with or without your influence on that mission. I am actually glad I got to help you in my death though."
Kakashi sobbed brokenly, "It should have been me under those rocks, not you…never you. You were too nice of a person to face that kind of fate."
The Uchiha growled and balled his fists before looking at the ground, anger burning in his eyes. He strode forward and ran a hand over the face of the monument. "You know I never would of thought my name would end up here."
"Does it really matter Obito?"
"It does because if you take the road your on to the end, you won't ever have your name on here with mine. Kakashi you need to be strong and help protect the village because the wind is changing. The village is going to need every able bodied ninja it has."
"What is going to happen?"
There was a crack of thunder and Obito winced, "I have to go soon; I am running out of time."
The shade began backing away as the silver haired boy reached out towards him saying, "Wait! Please don't go!"
His words fell on an empty clearing. Obito was gone.
Should this be turned into a Two shot or stay a one shot?
