It was New Years Eve and the burrow was full. There were people everywhere, most of them were talking, laughing and eating.
But there were two young children that were playing dolls, quietly, in the corner, on the floor of the burrow.
"I always have to play dolls with you; I want to go play Quidditch!" said 8-year-old Teddy Lupin, who had decided to make his hair blonde today.
"It's dark, anyways, your not allowed to go out." Said 6-year-old Victorie Weasley, who even though she was 6 years old, was inheriting her mother's Veela looks.
Victorie gave Teddy a very angry glare, witch, Teddy returned; they continued staring at each other for a couple of minutes, until Teddy blinked.
"Ha! You blinked! I won! You have to play dolls with me!" said Victorie, picking up a doll with long blonde hair off the floor.
"Fine, then!" said Teddy, angrily.
Victorie smiled in a way that annoyed Teddy.
"Okay, you're going to be him-" Victorie picked up a boy doll on the floor and gave it Teddy. "and I'm going to be her." Victorie held up the doll with long blonde hair.
Victorie put her doll on the floor and made it walk. Once she got to the boy doll Teddy was holding she made the doll make a movement with its hands that looked as if the doll were opening an imaginary door.
"Honey, I'm home!" said Victorie while at the same time making the doll wave.
"Hey!" Teddy said loudly, throwing his doll down and standing up.
"What?" Victorie asked, gently laying her doll down, on the floor and standing up.
"My doll's not honey!" said Teddy.
Victorie giggled. "I know that! But it's what they call each other!"
Teddy looked confused. "Why?" he asked.
"Because they love each other!"
"Why would that make them honey?" he asked.
Victorie thought for a moment.
"I dunno." She said.
At that moment, all the adults started counting down.
"10, 9, 8, 7, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2, 1!!" they all hollered at the same time. Right after they got to one they all started kissing.
Victorie looked at Teddy who staring at the ground. Victorie then got an idea. She looked around at all the adults who still seemed occupied with kissing, stood on her toes and kissed Teddy on the cheek.
It took a couple of seconds for Teddy to realize what had happened. He looked at her, she was blushing slightly, looking at her feet and had a small smile on her face.
He slowly raised his hand up to the place on his cheek Victorie had kissed and the slowly put it down. He looked at Victorie.
"What was that for?" he asked, confused.
Victorie looked up at him, but avoided eye contact.
"Well," she said "everybody else was kissing so I didn't think it was fair that I didn't get to kiss anyone and you didn't get a kiss, so I only made it fair." She said as if he should know that already.
"Oh." He replied.
"And they call each other honey because honey is sweet and they think the person they love is sweet." Victorie said wanting to change the subject.
Victorie sat down and picked up the doll she was previously playing with. Teddy sat down next to her and picked up his doll he previously had.
"Honey, I'm home!" Victorie made her doll say.
Both children giggled.
