'Hi, Lily.' Lily stopped dead. She'd just moved in with James yesterday, so it wasn't exactly unprecedented for her to meet a dark-haired Marauder when she came downstairs for breakfast. It was, however, unexpected today, because James had been fast asleep when she got out of bed.
'Sirius.' Her teeth were gritted. 'It's seven in the morning. On a Saturday.' Sirius nodded, chomping on his toast.
'Yup.' She sighed and rolled her eyes.
'So what are you doing here?' She tried her best to keep her voice calm. Sirius shrugged.
'I was hungry, I guess.' Lily closed her eyes for a second. This is fine, she thought. I knew that they were a package deal. She opened her eyes and forced a smile onto her face.
'Oh, of course. That's fine. I'm just going to go and get dressed.' Embarrassingly, she'd come down in only a large shirt of James'. Sirius nodded.
'Cool. See you in a bit.' Lily turned and ran up the stairs, to find James awake.
'Hey,' He smiled as she entered the room. 'I heard voices. Was that Sirius?' Lily nodded.
'He caught me by surprise. I didn't realise he'd be here for breakfast.' James grimaced.
'Sorry. I didn't even think about it. But you should probably know that Remus and Peter will probably pop in at some point this morning as well.' Lily sat down on the bed.
'Why? Is there some sort of Marauder meeting this morning?' James shook his head.
'No. It's like they're my family, Lils. They'll probably be here a lot of the time- unless you don't want them to be, I suppose...' He looked so much like he did want them to be there that she melted.
'No, James, it's okay. It just caught me off guard. Besides, after the wedding they'll be my family too.' James grinned.
'They already are, Lils.' Lily smiled softly.
'Yes,' she replied. 'I suppose they are.'
