Literally just whipping this out right now while I have it in my head. Enjoy! Takes place when Axel fades, with a slight romance-y twist on the dialogue. I don't own Kingdom Hearts!
Sora glanced around the area in wonder, searching for any evidence of the immense mass of nobodies that had previously been surrounding him and Axel.
Axel! Thought the Keyblade wielder, and he swiftly turned around to see the tall, skinny pyro-kinetic red head lying peacefully on the ground not ten feet away from him.
Sora dashed up to the older man and kneeled on the ground next to him. "Axel… you're fading!"
Axel smiled. "That's what happens when you throw your entire being into an attack like that. Not that I actually have a being." He laughed quietly, humorlessly.
Sora's eyebrows came together in worry. "What were you trying to do?"
Axel sighed. "I wanted to see Roxas. He was the only one I ever liked. He made me feel like I had a heart. It's kind of… funny…. You make me feel… the same…."
The smaller boy frowned. "Roxas…." All of a sudden, the memories came crashing down on him like rain.
Him and Axel, talking. Eating sea-salt ice cream. Laughing. Spending any free time they had together. He could feel it; they had been best friends.
But it wasn't Sora.
"Roxas…" Sora said again, but quieter, almost a breath. "I am… Roxas? We were… best friends…"
Axel's eyes shot open in momentary shock. "How do you know that? You… remember?"
Along with all the memories came feelings. Friendship. Loneliness. Love. Sora blushed. He looked at Axel. Another memory surged through his mind.
"You can't turn against the Organization! They'll exterminate you!" Axel said desperately to his only friend.
Roxas scowled. "No one would miss me," he said, trying his best to hide the sorrow he was feeling for leaving the man he loved and walked swiftly away.
"That's not true!" the red head yelled. "I would..."
"Axel? I… remember. You and Roxas were best friends. Axel, he didn't want to leave the Organization. He didn't want to leave you. He loved you!" Sora said loudly, then his hand flew to his mouth and he blushed again.
Axel laughed again, but happier than the last time.
"Sora… you got all his memories, didn't you?" the pyro asked.
Sora looked away. "Yes…"
"And all his feelings… correct?"
"Yes." The brunet looked back at the older man with tears in his eyes. "Axel… please don't fade! I… I…"
"You?"
"I love you! Okay? I love you. Happy?" Sora replied, exasperated and dealing with the shock of receiving all of the thoughts and memories of his other self. He closed his eyes and didn't notice when the other man sat up, and he jumped in surprise when the red head wrapped his arms around him.
"It's okay…" Axel said comfortingly. "I… love you, too."
"What? But… don't you love Roxas?" Sora asked, bewildered.
Axel pulled away slightly, bringing their faces within inches of each other, and Sora blushed again.
"Well, you are Roxas, aren't you? You said so yourself. I guess you didn't hear me when I said you make me feel the same…" he said quietly, and he brought their lips together softly, lovingly.
"Go. Kairi's in the castle dungeon. Tell her I said sorry, alright?" Axel said, with his arms still wrapped around Sora.
"You can tell her yourself! Please, Axel! Don't leave me…" he said, and kissed the other man again.
"Sorry, Sora. I love you. Good luck…" and then his arms were wrapped around nothing.
"Goodbye, Axel." The brunet said, and cried silently, thinking about the man he had loved for five minutes and forever. "Goodbye."
God, that was horrible. Please review!
