I don't really like this but I felt like Christmas story was required...

A small box decorated in bright stripped paper and topped with a large blue placed in the middle of the package; which kept the tag reading: "To: Adam From: Derby" in place, was laying on a science lab table, gripped tightly by its current possessor.

Said possessor watched as other classmates approached their teacher's desk smiling brightly and reciting a kind "Merry Christmas, Mr. Young." Before scurrying off with their friends once again. He also needed to go up there to give Adam his Christmas gift but he was scared, his gift wasn't as good as anyone else's but at least he got something right?

Derby stood, confidence draining the moment he saw Echo at the desk. 'Abandon all hope now.' He thought grimly.

However, his reaction wasn't the amazingly gushing explosive one he'd expected, thanks to Slab presenting a better gift, of course.

He watched other two walk away arguing. This was his chance. Before another student could get there he ran up to the desk, placing the box in front of his friend, in fear of running away with it from nervousness if he kept holding it. "Merry Christmas, Adam." Derby smiled widely and remained by the desk.

"Oh, thanks Derby." The taller boy grinned at his friend, picking up the box.

"Well go on, open it." The nerves were eating at him; just wanting this to be over.

"Okay okay, calm down." Adam laughed; tearing off the paper and opening the box. He stared in mouth slightly a-gap, "Wow..."

"Okay like I know it's not much but I didn't have much but I wanted to get you something and when I saw this I thought of you so-"

The boy was silenced by lips pressed against his and after what felt like minutes of contact but in reality was merely a few seconds Adam pulled away, grinning blissfully. "Thank you, Derbs. I really love it." He pulled a miniature Newton's cradle from the box and placed in on his desk.

Derby, although still suffering from the aftershocks of the sudden kiss and couldn't quite think straight, was overjoyed that Adam had liked his gift turned to return to his seat.

"Oh, hold on!" The brunette dove to his desk drawer, pulling out a large rectangular box and handing it to the smaller boy, "Merry Christmas, Derby. Sorry I kind of cheated on the wrapping."

The spiky haired boy laughed and pulled the lid, revealing a pair of red silk pajamas "Is this your way of telling me it's okay to sleep in your class?" He grinned at his friend, pulling him in for a hug. "Thanks, Adam."

They released and as Derby was walking back to his table with his pajamas he noticed Echo now sitting at a table with Slab. He crept up behind her and whispered, "I won." In her ear. He decided to sit with them rather than be alone and laughed every time she gave him a confused look or mouthed 'What' at him.
