Basically, this is based off a conversation I had with a friend recently about bisexuality. Since I've started watching OITNB it really reminded me of Piper, and her being bisexual and all. I'd like to think that Piper is really sure of her sexuality and really confident with it. Although I ship Vauseman, Piper/Larry is featured. (Blergh).

"Pipes, I just don't get it. I just…"

"What's not to understand, Larry?" Piper said in a raised voice, clearing the plates from the table in one swift movement.

"Being with a woman, and now you're with me? So, you're gay and now you're… straight!"

"Larry. I'm bisexual. How many times do I have to explain?" Piper nearly yelled, spitting the word bisexual.

She turned away from Larry, facing their little kitchen window. Piper aggressively began to scrub the plates, despite only having eaten sandwiches for dinner. How could Larry not understand? Was he worried that she would suddenly start fucking girls? Was that it?

"Why does this concern you, Larry? I love you." Piper remained facing the window, acting as if something interesting was occurring beyond it.

"It doesn't concern me. I just don't get it."

"I do. It means I could be with a girl… or a man. Which I am right now."

Piper turned to face Larry. He had a quizzical look on his face and was searching her face to the answers. Piper approached him, her mouth set in a grim line and her arms folded. Larry opened his mouth to speak, but thought the better of it. He motioned for Piper to sit. Obviously he wanted to talk about this new development. In all honesty, he was more shocked that his girlfriend had dated a girl before and not that fact that she had smuggled drug money.

"If you're worried I'm going to start fucking other girls, you've really got this wrong."

"No, no no no. God, Piper. That's not it. I'm just processing this."

"The fact that I've fucked a girl before or that I smuggled drug money?"

"Piper!" Larry reached forward and moved a strand of hair. He pulled away when Piper gave him a menacing glare. "Okay, okay. You know what… explain this, bisexual thing."

Piper leaned back, and let her eyes wander over Larry. She rolled her eyes and leaned forward, her hands resting on the table. "Being… bi is like…" Piper paused, searching for the right words, "is like… enjoying cake that is both chocolate and vanilla. I won't just eat vanilla cake; I'd also eat chocolate cake. Whereas you only eat chocolate cake. Does that make sense?"

Larry looked at Piper a moment, "Yeah. I guess. But… would you ever eat vanilla cake again?"

"What?"

"If I died… would you enjoy vanilla cake again?"

"Oh shut up, Larry." She said laughing, "But… right now… I think I'd like to enjoy some chocolate cake."
