A/N: Gin/Blackdemonblood here don't worry, I haven't died, I just had exams so I couldn't write for ages ._. This is for the village square contest, the story of us. Check out the forum if you haven't, it's awesome ^^ reviews are appreciated! :D
Once upon a time, there was a girl called Mary.
She lived in a little village, where life was simple. The library, her family….nothing much really.
She had a really really really big crush on the local blacksmith, Gray, and he seemed to like her too, and they lived happily ever after.
Then, she came. Of course, for Mary isn't the main character of the story. How could she be? Just a plain, ugly and useless girl, really.
The scratching of pen paused for a moment, before continuing.
She was very pretty, a million times more than Mary. Her big blue eyes shone with radiance and Her captivating smile come cheer anyone up. Her name is Claire.
She worked hard at her farm, and everybody liked her, including Mary. Stupid Mary.
I bit down on my lips to stop the tears from spilling.
Of course, Gray liked her too. Just as friends, he assured Mary, just as friends, as naïve Mary believe him. What an idiot.
But then one day Gray told Mary he didn't like her anymore. He said he was sorry, he truly was. Wiping away a single tear of Mary's, he told her that getting married to Claire. Gorgeous, pretty, sweet Claire, who will have everything she had ever wanted.
As Gray slowly walked off, Mary shouted his name. There was nothing else she could say, and she stood there crying as she watched his retreating figure.
Breathe in, breathe out. Breathe in, breathe out. Calm down, I thought to myself, as I continued with the story. Don't think about anything. Just let the words flow.
They were married within a season. She wore a beautiful flowing white gown that trailed on the floor. In the pure white gown, she seemed to be floating above everybody, somehow soaring with angel wings. The beauty was comparable to a goddess. They were a match made in heaven. It was the first time Mary had ever seen his eyes shine like that.
Mary was like an ugly toad next to her. She could never match her beauty. She didn't have long eyelashes like her, like a perfect porcelain doll. She didn't have that fair hair, or the extremely long legs. She didn't have the pearly skin, or her figure. She was worthless. She couldn't dance like Karen, run the inn like Ann, sing like Popuri or be a nurse like Elli. Yes, she was worthless.
Not that this story was about Mary. She isn't worth a second thought. This is all about Claire and Gray and their happily ever after-
I couldn't I write anymore. I collapsed to the ground in a pathetic heap. My legs, like everybody else who attempted to cheer me up, seemed to give up on me too.
"Mary, dear? Are you okay?" My mother's voice rang from the kitchen.
"I'm fine," I answered, wiping away the tears.
It seemed that there was no happily ever after for Mary in the story of us. There will never be.
Not for me.
A/N: so…how was that? yeah yeah, it's another one of my tragic stories again I hate myself sometimes.
