Disclaimer: Charecters arent mine, but I wish Malfoy was! (this is short I know)

It was two a.m. All of Hogwarts was silent and asleep. That is, except for two students.

Hermione and Malfoy sat in the Head's common room. One enjoying the flickering fire, more then the other.

Hermione paused from her essay writing and surveyed the Head boy sitting beside her. "Honestly, how in the world do you have good grades? How are you cheating?"

Malfoy turned his cool eyes towards Hermione. His voice was low and harsh "Do not accuse me of cheating, Granger." He picked up his bag from beside him and withdrew a stack of parchment. The top one proclaiming Malfoy's name and essay title The Disadvantages of Using Gillyweed.

Hermione blinked at the essay in Malfoy's hand "I'm s-s-s-sorry Malfoy I shouldn't have…" She started to blush from being proved wrong, then stood up with a huff. "Well it's your fault for giving off the bad impression of being a slacker."

Malfoy snickered "well maybe you shouldn't judge others so quickly."

Hermione huffed again and stomped to her bedroom, leaving all her things and Malfoy behind.

After he heard the click of her lock, Malfoy removed the top title parchment from his stack. The rest of the parchments were blank. He pulled out a clean quill; grabbed Hermione's disregarded essay and proceeded to copy it, changing it here and there to sound like he really had written it. "I don't call this cheating" he thought. "I call this helping out another student."

Just as he was returning Hermione's essay to its original place, the sound of the door clicked and out trudged Hermione. "I forgot my things." She explained. She was trudging back to her room, arms full of books, essays, and quills. When a voice called from the couch.

"Thanks."

She didn't know why Malfoy was thanking her, but she was polite. "Your welcome," Then Hermione went back to her room.

Malfoy smirked and reread over his new essay, "Thank you, indeed."
