Star Trek: TNG Saga's #1: Halloween for Data

Prologue

According to my calculations, it is approximately 0830 hours. It is the 3,968 that I have approximated the time. Oh, excuse me. I am Lieutenant Commander Data, of the Federation Starship USS Enterprise.

Today is an 'average day', although an Earth festivity is coming up. I believe the children prefer it as Halloween. I have noticed pumpkins and bats hanging in most of the school rooms, yet I am trying to find out what significance bats have with Halloween. I thought most children would run from them, Spot seems to.

Counselor Troi seems to enjoy this festivity. She told me that she like the chocolate the best. I told Commander Riker what she said and he replied "that it is actually an expected outburst when coming from her." Guinan enjoys All Hallows Eve as well. She once told me that she has never seen so many children come into Ten Forward at once. I counted all the children last year. About 274 visited her for little parcels of sugar they refer to as "candy." Spot does not seem to enjoy the idea of eating candy.

I have tried it. It is not too bad, but very sweet. It is kind of addicting...
