/You're going to regret telling me to do this people. Seriously. This. Is. A. Bad. Idea.
Soooo if you haven't read Operator, Inc. first, I'd suggest it. I'm taking a lot of theory from her. I made a small twist though-
what if both Tim and Jay were robots?
Remember- this is all mostly azazelbunny's ideas and theshippingturtle's, I don't come even close to owning the original idea. Hell, and they even AU'd it from Marble Hornets! Seriously. An AU in an AU. ARE WE TRYING TO BREAK REALITY!?)
Alex had made Jay first.
The name he tagged on last minute, quite literally. It needed something to respond to when Alex needed assistance. He needed an assistant for doing normal orders, spare parts and the like. That way Alex could focus on more 'important' orders that came from higher up.
Jay was an above average robot, covered with a thin layer of blue marbelite and efficiently steam powered like most things. Alex made him as 'accurate' as possible, only to test his limits on detail. Jay could even 'feel' pieces of equipment between his fingers.
And for three months, Jay worked out. He worked out amazingly well actually.
Then Alex created the new robot. One with red marbelite coating and meant for heavy work.
Honestly, he didn't know what went wrong. Something with the coding? Steam leaking on the computer part of his brain, causing it to malfunction? A virus? It didn't matter anymore.
Because Tim was different.
The robot's eyes slowly flashed on. Alex sighed with relief. Honestly, 'Tim', as this one was going to respond to, was a pain in the ass. He wouldn't turn on for the past three times, forcing Alex to take him apart and figure out what was wrong.
"... Quit staring at me. Who are you?"
Alex blinked. Well. That was different. "I'm Alex, your creator. Just making sure you're functioning. Tim. Get into the clothes on the desk and go to Jay for orders." He ordered.
Tim's mouth actually moved into a frown. "Why should I?"
Okay, snark issues already. Alex frowned back. "Because. I own you. I'm the one who created you, and you're supposed to do as I say." He made sure to enunciate every word. Perhaps he should shut off Tim's vocal abilities.
The red robot huffed. Literally. Huffed. "Fine. Since you're my maker and all, I guess I should be grateful." Alex had never heard a robot use sarcasm before. But, foolishly, he didn't comment on it. It was probably just a glitch.
Instead, he watched Tim walk up to Jay, after he was dressed, and say,
"You're Jay? Great. I'm Tim, apparently. I suppose we're working together."
Jay just nodded. "That's right." He said, without any real sign of emotion.
Alex never should have let them interact.
(Yeah, it's short, but I wanted to make it a birthday present.
HAPPY BDAY AZAZELBUNNY!
Remember- drop a review. It's the polite thing to do. And it'll encourage me to continue. Also, feel free to drop ideas as to what exactly to do with this AU. I'm just running with an idea now./
