Hercules and the echo

One day, a long time ago there was a half god that was curious. He wanted to know who was answering back or copying the same things he said. This half god's name was Hercules. Everything Hercules said, the same sounds and words would be copied by somebody else. Hercules was getting upset. When he would ask "Who is copying what I'm saying." Somebody would answer back the same thing. Well, with Hercules stubbornest he kept on persisting in finding out who was trying to be funny by copying him. His persistence didn't result into anything because this person wouldn't respond without copying him.

Hercules was tired and angry of being copied that he started to climb a very big mountain called Mount Olympus to get to the bottom of who was trying to be funny by copying him. With Hercules' powerful strength, it didn't take him long to climb the mountain. When he got half way to the top of the mountain Hercules was tired and out of energy but his curiosity kept him going. Finally he saw an entrance to a cave on the very top of the mountain. Hercules felt like there would be a challenge up ahead in that cave for him.

Hercules always took challenges like they were all easy. He went in the cave and it looked like somebody lived there but, "Why would somebody live in here." he asked. "Hello does anybody live here." asked Hercules. "Hello does anybody live here." replied somebody. Hercules heard a voice but saw no one. Hercules got very upset and knew that this person who was copying him was trying to make a fool out of him. Hercules took his club that he always carried with him everywhere he went and began swinging and hitting all the walls in the cave. It was getting dark in the cave so he couldn't see what he was hitting. Hercules ended up hitting somebody. It was the person who was copying him, he hit him right in the forehead and knocked him out. With Hercules' great power nobody could of survived that hit.

All of a sudden Hera appears up in the cave. Hera saw Harron (the person who was getting Hercules upset by copying him) on the ground knocked out. She disappeared and then she reappeared back with something gold and it looked like a sheep's fur. She put the golden fleece on Harron and then somehow Harron got back up and looked like nothing happened to him. Hercules asked Hera what she was doing here and she replied "Harron works for me and my plan worked!"

Hercules asked Hera what plan and she replied "My plan to punish you." Hercules got very upset and asked her what he had done to get punished because Hercules didn't think he had done any harm. Hera refreshed his small mind and told him what he had done. "You invaded Harron's (the god of sound) space by coming up here and you also tried to kill him." explained Hera. "You will be the new god of sound, replacing Harron as a punishment for what you have done and this punishment will be for the rest of your life." said Hera. "You will now live here in this cave on this mountain." explained Hera. "Then as god of sound, what is my job?" replied Hercules with a disappointed voice. "You will have to echo!" replied Hera with a grin on her face. "Echo, that's a hard job to do." replied Hercules. "Well to bad for you now because you are stuck with this punishment." replied Hera.

That is how ECHO came to be. Hercules is still the god of sound and also still lives in the same cave as before. If you hear an echo when your on a mountain or wherever you hear one, keep in mind that it's Hercules watching over you.
