Sight
Chapter 1
Melinda POV
I think I had way too much to drink. I held my hand with my mouth and ran outside from the insane party. I threw up all the contents of my stomach next to a small rotted bench. I might as well sit while I'm here. I sat down, trying to relax my stomach. Maybe this party was a bad idea.
I have no idea where Rachel is. She, Ivy, and some other girls brought me to this party. Rachel is my best friend. We do everything together.
"Hello." A voice came beside me, making me jump in the process. I turned to see a Greek god and when I say god, I mean god. He was absolutely gorgeous. "H-Hi." I stuttered, nervously. "Dance with me." He said, in a soft but commanding tone. Mesmerized, I got up and we began to slow dance. Oh my god. A senior, a gorgeous, hot senior, dancing with me! Where is Rachel she has got to see this! He then kissed me lightly on the hand, going up my arm, to my neck. And finally, to my lips but it started getting rougher and rougher and I didn't like it. We seemed to move as he kissed me. He was hurting me.
It was getting darker, and we both fell on the ground. I finally saw we were a ways away from the house, in the woods. He started taking off my clothes. I tried to scream but my voice wouldn't let me, I was too scared. I couldn't get the scream out of my throat. He noticed and covered my mouth as he finished taking off my last piece of clothing.
At that party, in those woods, a senior named, Andy Evans, took my virginity. When he was done, he walked away happily. My lips were bruised and blood was all over. I was so dizzy. I got up and made my way back to the party. I walked in. Phone, must find phone. I found it under a couple making out on the couch. My shaky fingers dialed 911. "Hello. State your emergency." A woman said. Before I could say anything, someone took the phone out of my hands. They listened in and then threw the phone. "THE COPS! SHE CALLED THE COPS!" They screamed and everyone bolted. Rachel gave me the nastiest look ever and then she to left with her brother and our friends.
I slowly got out of the house. I saw the cops arrive and got ready to be questioned but they ran right past me. Hmm, that was weird. I shrugged it off and slowly started my long walk home.
That is the first chapter of Sight. First, let me say, that this is Laurie Halse Anderson's story, it is not mine, though I took her characters from her lovely book, Speak and am creating a new story in my own way. So, thank you Miss Anderson for Speak which is a very inspiring book to teens all over. And thank you, to my amazing boyfriend, Austin. He picked Speak to be the background for this story and he gave me the concept for my story. So thank you Austin. And finally thank you to anyone who reads this, I hope you enjoyed reading this as much as I enjoy writing. I will write more in the future, in the meantime please review, I am also always open to new ideas. Thank you.
