Christine watched Raoul row the gondola away for the dungeons of the Phantom. She couldn't understand why she felt so horrible. She glanced away form Raoul's gaze as the same thought went through her mind again. She had kissed the phantomand felt complete, she couldn't help but think of his lips on hers. "Raoul stop the boat." She said quietly. She looked at him in the eyes and felt her face flush with a sob.
"Little Lotte, my darling, what's wrong" Raoul asked sliding his fingertips down her cheek. She looked away from his sweet eyes.
"Raoul…I" she took his hand in hers, "Please send no one after me, I love youdearly but I believe I left my heart with the Phantom. I'm terribly sorry." She kissed his cheek and jumped out of the boat.
"Christine!" he yelled looking over the side of the boat. She popped out of the water.
"please Raoul tell no one." And with that she was gone.
The Phantom sat on his bed looking at the music box. He looked up to see a dripping wet Christine in front of him and jumped up immediately.
"What are you doing here, they are coming, you should be with your lover on that boat." He ranted. She placed a finger over his lips.
"I am here because I wish to be, they will stop their hunt and I'm not in the boat because I love you." She answer calmly. She leaned up and replaced her finger with her lips. He couldn't believe what was going on, the woman he was madly in love with was kissing with return of the same love. He quickly jerked away.
"No. you could never love a monster." He said looking away.
"Angel, I see no monster…I see a handsome sweet genious of a man." She took his hand in hers and gently brought his arm around her in an embrace. Slowly tears fell from his eyes, his heart believed her but his mind didn't. "Angel? I don't know your name." she looked up at him.
"Erik. My name is Erik." He said staring into her eyes trying to see if she was telling the truth about staying with him. She rested her head against his chest and breathed in his scent. She whispered his name a few times and found that she loved to say it. He wrapped his other arm around her and for once he was truly happy.
