My Scar

I bear a scar,
A simple scar,
Yet for all it's done
I've come so far.

His eyes so cold,
My heart was bold,
But that meant nothing,
As this scar told.

Long years have passed,
My strength twice surpassed,
Yet fear still lives,
My heart beats fast.

Can I challenge him again?
This scar brings pain that never ends,
Given by him with eyes so cold,
My most feared of all men.

Many long roads I plan to tread,
So far from the shelter of my bed,
Always remembering this man,
How he spilled my blood so red.

I bear this scar,
This simple scar,
Despite its mark,
I will go far!
