Humbly Exalted

Two guests

attend a banquet

Celebrating in delight

Dancing, feasting

Talking, singing

Everyone included.

One guest

was proud and

strong.

The other

meek and

feeble.

The first man

took his place

at the head of the table

Where the host belonged.

The latter one

sat in a corner spot

far away from the mirthful group.

Entering the dining hall,

the host was most displeased

for all he saw around him

was a disorganized fiasco!

"You there

Head of the table

That seat was reserved for others!"

And sheepishly,

the man got down

from his highfalutin perch.

Then the host's gaze

fell upon the lesser man

and he declared,

"Friend, don't sit so

dreadfully far away!

Come and take my seat of honor."

For everyone who exalts himself

will be humbled

and everyone who humbles himself

will be exalted.
