Author's note: another one of those random things I think up when I should be doing homework.
Joo Dee tried to break the curse on her; the curse of blind obedience. She fought against her will as well as that of her master. She knew the consequences for defying Long Feng. She knew, yet the lies still plagued her conscience. She protested, saying she could not keep up the facade anymore. Joo Dee had done it all for him, the beautiful one; the last of his kind.
She was no pedophile. In fact, he was technically much older than her. But that didn't stop the desires of her heart. He struck her as unique: high, chirping voice, petite stature, big ears, without the boring dark hair so common in the city. And the way he could glide in the air so gracefully! He was compassionate and caring, weeping over the loss of the sky bison, Appa.
Joo Dee wanted to burst into the house he was staying in and proclaim her love for him loudly enough for the whole city to hear. But she couldn't. He would never understand what she felt for him. Besides, she would only be taken away and brainwashed again. "Joo Dee, the Earth King has invited you to stay with him at Lake Laogai," the Cultural Minister of Ba Sing Se would say.
"I am honored to accept his invitation," she would agree.
That wasn't what she wanted. So Joo Dee kept silent.
She waited patiently, hoping every morning he would be alone, but to no avail. He would always surrounded by his companions who gave her mean looks, especially that Water Tribe boy. All that the woman wanted to do when he glared at her was run far, far away from the city where he wouldn't make her uncomfortable like that.
Days passed. She could not get him alone; not if he was always surrounded by his friends who obviously disliked her. Despair began to take over. As time progressed she realized they would eventually leave, and he would never know how she felt.
When the group had been in Ba Sing Se about two weeks she finally got her chance. The girls (Toph and Kotare?) had gone out. Joo Dee quietly approached the door of the Avatar's house.
When she knocked upon it, she was met by his smiling face. She was welcomed in heartily and offered a seat. The Water Tribesman Sokka glared at her icily from across the room while she ignored this best she could. Eventually he tired of watching her and left. This left Joo Dee facing her idol, her light in the darkness.
A single look told all. She gazed at him lovingly and his countenance seemed to light up with this sign of affection. She took him in her arms. A rumble left his throat.
"I am Joo Dee, servant of the Earth King, but my heart belongs to you."
He nodded in understanding. Joo Dee kissed his nose, his cheek, the top of his head. "I'll make it all better, dearest love," she murmured. "Anything for you, dear, sweet, adorable, misunderstood one."
She brought him into a tighter embrace. "You are my world, Momo."
I bet you didn't see that coming, now did you?
