Trory One Shot
I just stood there, watching him walk away. Possible forever. Snap out of it Gilmore! I told myself. I looked over at Dean, he was still watching me, but I couldn't tell if he was mad or confused, but right now I couldn't care less. I brought my fingers up to my lips wondering what would have happened if he had kissed me. And to my horror, I wished he had.
"Tristan! Wait!"
He stopped and turned around, looking at me confused. And before I knew it I was running over to him, well, as fast as a Gilmore Girl would ever run.
"Mary? Ror, you ok?"He asked, trying to figure out the cause for my odd behavior.
"I will be." I whispered. And supposing myself as much as I surprised him I stood on tiptoe, pressing my lips to his. Tristan wrapped his arms around my waist, closing the distance between us as my arms snaked around his neck, my fingers tangling in his hair. The sparks that just hadn't been there with Dean recently made there reappearance. After several long moments air became a necessity and we broke apart.
"God Mary!"Tristan said breathlessly, a slight smirk playing on his lips.
"Oh, shut up!" I replied. Any doubt I had had about my feelings for him were gone.
"You just want me to stop talking and kiss you again. See, I know how your mind works." He teased, resting his forehead on mine.
"I don't know," I said, "I'll have to think about it." A small smirk on my lips.
"That's not nice Mare!" He said, trying to sound hurt, but failing to keep the smile off his lips. "I think Bag Boy's trying to fine the most painful way to kill me."
"Oh well," I said. "I really don't care. Things with him just haven't been like they used to be." Tristan started to say something but I stopped him. "I made up my mind." I whispered, gently pressing my lips to his again.
"Tristan!" His father called from down the hall.
Tristan sighed and pulled away slightly. "I have to go." He whispered, his lips brushing mine as he spoke. I didn't trust my voice, so I pulled away a little more and nodded, surprised to find my eyes wet, but I refused to cry. But I had to admit that it was unfair. Just moments after I find out that he's leaving I realize that I lo- don't hate him anymore, that I want to be with him.
"Now Tristan!"
"Just a second!" Tristan yelled over his shoulder before turning back to me. "I'll be home soon. I promise." He said quietly. Raising one hand from my waist, he used his thumb to wipe away a stray tear that had escaped my defenses.
"Soon!" I stressed in a shaky voice. He just nodded and with a chaste kiss he walked away. I had to turn around and face the empty hall behind me. I knew if I watched him leave I would cry and I had to die in a minute. Taking a deep breath I wiped my eyes and started down the hall. It was time to face the music.
