The room appeared to be capsized by the utter color of red and pink... at least it haunted so for Remus. The letter roamed within; a pinch of ink that constantly idled his intellect.
Remus sat frustrated at his incapability to dwell himself peacefully into his studies. The scrawling of the pen easily fell out of its usual rhythm and the pages of the book mocked him as the seemingly simple letters began to maneuver his mind as they pleased.
"I give up," Remus said as his eyes rolled to the back of his head with his mind jaded with stress.
"Parting your homework so soon?" Sirius asked peaking out from the corner of his advanced charms book. "Dear Remus, what inflicts thy weary mind?" A surreptitious smile dispersed itself across his lips.
"It's nothing, good night, Sirius." Remus gave a small wave to his bemused friend and began fumbling with the buttons on his robes while Sirius mutely watched from above his bed.
"...As you trance the moon, I will relish upon your rage. Signed anonymous. Anonymous, how modest, she should have at least wrote something like 'Your passion'. People are such amateurs these days," James commented with a smirk.
The words traveled translucent into his ears and he soon realized he was awake. "What're you two doing?" Remus asked straining to snatch the letter with his body still numb from sleep.
"Didn't anyone ever tell you not to hide secrets from your friends?" James asked acquiring the letter towards him every time Remus' arms emerged to grab them. "Besides, we found it in your robe. Finders keepers."
Sirius positioned his hand above Remus' forehead and leaned in towards him. "I see an apparent sign of simple sentiment. Now tell us, Remus, who gave such an excited letter? 'Relish upon your rage', she might as well have wrote blood."
Remus quickly brushed Sirius' hand away from his forehead and sat up.
"You're all just getting carried away. Now leave me alone." Looking around the room, he realized that his robe was no longer hanging at the only end of the bedpost that was not adjacent to a wall. "You guys are hopeless."
Reaching under his bed, he pulled out a suitcase and clicked the two cold metal locks on the sides and opened it. Before he could take out another pair of robes, James stepped on the top and the suitcase locked back up.
"Hey! Kill me some other way that's more dramatic why don't you," Remus said, the hint of annoyance in his voice.
"Stop being so negative," James replied, swiftly turning around to leave.
"Your robe's resting quite pleasantly under my pillow, by the way," Sirius called over his shoulder right before he reached the door. "See you in class."
Badum, badum. Since when had my heart began to race? I feel so overwhelmed. Remus fell back on his bed and closed his eyes.
I probably wont be updating this any time soon. I've got the whole thing figured out and what's gonna happen, but finals are here. I promise to write during the summer!
