I kinda screwed with Tony and Ziva's ages, I'm pretty sure they're supposed to be older, but uh, whatever. This isn't my best work, by far, but I kind of want to publish it since it's not downright awful and I want feedback on how I wrote NCIS, since it's my first time with them. I have another NCIS fic almost finished, if this one turns out well, I'll see about finishing that one faster. And I could never forget Supernatural.
Somewhere after Season 7 for NCIS, post-Swan Song for Supernatural.
Sam sees him while picking up some more rock salt for a hunt that night. Dean spots her when grocery shopping with a tired Lisa and and a reluctant Ben. Tony notices him in line as he grabs a box of frozen pizza and some popcorn. Ziva watches him while trying to find the ingredients for chicken parmesan.
He's 32 years old, same as his brother, but he's still got the eyes of a child. His brother's eyes are haunted. Or, at least they used to be. His brother's got a family now. A real life. He hasn't gotten close enough to look at his eyes in a while. He doesn't have any desire to, either, because he's better off without him.
She's 28 years old. Like his brother would be now if he hadn't... She's beautiful and graceful, but with deadly intent that anyone with a trained eye could see. He'd been like that, too. Dangerous. Now he was probably broken, a shattered soul in Hell. It's not the first time he starts hating himself for that promise he made.
He's 28 years old, same as she is now. She's 28 years old, but sometimes she still looks like a child. Not so much anymore, not after Somalia, but he gets glimpses. He has an emotionless mask, like her, too. He wonders if he went through his own kind of Somalia to get like that.
He's 32 years old, same age her brother would be if... He's 32 years old, but he's got a family of his own. Her brother will never have a wife, never have children. And she knows she did what she had to, but, like she does every day, she has to remind herself that it was the right thing to do.
A brother walks off with a woman and a child.
A man runs into the person he's been thinking about.
A woman spills her heart to her partner.
And the other brother walks off alone.
