It was in an art lesson that Sho first became aware that not every girl would like him forever. He had drawn a fabulous picture of a rock star with a guitar; it was a future portrait of himself, one that he was quite proud of. He turned to Kyoko to show her the picture that he had drawn when his eyes fell on her drawing instead. Normally Kyoko would draw pictures of her and her mother with smiling faces in her old home; occasionally there would be a dog. This time was different.
"Hey Kyoko-chan who's that?" He asked.
Kyoko looked up at him with a wide smile, "This is my Fairy Prince Corn!" she said happily as she coloured in his hair yellow. Sho scowled, he knew what that smile meant, she was in love with this stupid 'fairy'.
"Well I think he looks stupid." He replied crossing his arms.
"Nuh uh. He's the prettiest in the whole world! And he's a real prince to! Don't be jealous Shotaro."
"Yea well he doesn't look cool like me!" he argued.
"He is so cool! He has yellow hair and everything!" she countered tears accumulating in the corner of her eyes.
Sho sensing that serious watershed could ensue decided to calm her down. "Whatever Kyoko, what d'you think of my picture?" he asked. The six year old children soon forgot about their mini argument and carried on their day in relative peace.

Sho just returned home after a girl dumped him for being 'uncool'! HIM! He sighed, this was so not needed! He had his career to think about and if he wasn't cool how was that going to work out?
He stormed into Kyoko's room to boss her around and make him feel better only to find the room empty. It suddenly dawned on him that she was helping out at the inn today and groaned in frustration. Plonking himself on her bed he noticed a piece of paper sticking out underneath her pillow. Pulling the paper out he looked at the drawing. He was overcome with a sudden desire to tear the page into tiny pieces when he remembered what Kyoko had said, 'He is so cool! He has yellow hair and everything a prince needs!'
"Yellow hair?" he muttered quietly turning his head towards the mirror in Kyoko's room. Fingering his hair and imagining what it would be like if he was blonde. 'I'd be cool!' he thought rushing off to get his hair done.
When he arrived later that evening his mother and father were furious with him, but he got back the girl who dumped him, and to his male pre-teen ego that was what mattered most.

He didn't know exactly what it was about the actor that made him so determined to beat him. It was almost like the guy was familiar in a passing way. The shape of the eyes, the freakishly tall body, something about him got Sho on edge. It was almost like this was the guy that he first lost to and that was something he could not take.
