Note: I'm sorry if this poem sounds confusing because of the scattered viewpoints but I forgot that .net always jumbles up my paragraphs every time I post poetry. So I'll try to explain as best I can which characters are speaking. Basically, Kaname is telling Zero not to 'walk away' and that letting themselves be tempted by Yuki's blood is selfish. And the last lines are from Yuki's point of view since she's clearly divided between Kaname and Zero and she's afraid that she won't be able to save neither one. I have a tendency of being vague/mysterious in my writing but if anyone has questions, I'll gladly make them clearer.

Declaimer: I own nothing.

Fear Of a still night

The way we are,

So desperate to protect our

Most precious ones

That we take whatever bargain

Is made without a second thought,

Then when the moon wanes

It's too late

To turn back time.

Oh, don't try to walk away

We are much more alike

Than you think.

Can't you smell the blood?

Steel and salt, and rust

Somehow

It smells differently to us.

Yet, we both know

That it would be selfish

To take a sip

From that goblet of temptation,

Lest doing so

Would annihilate

That delicate rose.

Call my name in the stillness

Pierce the midnight hour

With an agonizing cry

And my feet shall hurry

To come to your aid.

I won't let you fall,

I won't betray your heart

But who do I turn to

When they're both gone?

Silver bells tinkle

As the leaves rustle.
