He had been through this before

And He knew how it would conclude

Once it started, it would just consume Him

Leave Him hurting and elude

.

Like so many times before

.

The first had been a girl

Now forgotten by all but He

When He had misdiagnosed His feelings

And disturbed had been she

.

He was sad then,

But unbroken

.

The second was opposite than He,

Both in gender and in faith

But the process was the same for Him

He spoke and faced was He with a wraith

.

The pain had been much greater then,

because He was a teen

And more subject to the woes of love

Then He had at first been

.

He was tormented then,

And broken

.

The next had been a girl as well

Of the same variety

Although He told none but his friends

One of them sold out He

.

He was used to His repetitious pains by now

And only for a short time suffered

But He came to distrust his friends

Whom He thought must have uttered

.

He was lonley then,

And miserable

.

The fourth had been the only boy

And this had been met with shock

But He was partly successful,

In the keeping of the lock

.

The boy had not suspected

Nor did the boy inquire

But He confided in single soul

Of whom was His desire

.

And that only single friend

To whom He had secreted

Told the boy of His desire, and soon

Friend's confidence was regretted

.

He was horrified then,

And humiliated

.

And now it repeats once again

This cycle of despair

He has grown to like someone new

And this is beyond repair

.

Again He has trusted

That same ill-fated friend

And He is unsure if His newfound love

Will be put to early end

.

He is pained now,

And frightened

.

Like so many times before.
