Really simple one-shot. Wanted to try my hand out in fan-fiction
Enjoy!
One thing Cyborg had to always keep in mind when he was talking was to not talk about certain subjects, specifically around Robin. When they first started dating Robin had made mentions about it, but they never really talked about. It never really seemed to have happened before so there wasn't really a cause for concern on Cyborgs end. That was, until he saw it happen for the first time.
The first time⦠was completely and utterly horrible. In happened so suddenly, that it didn't really occur to Cyborg a the moment. They were in the middle of an argument he remembered that clearly. He had said something that had caused it, he didn't remember exactly what he'd said and part of him didn't really want too. All that Cyborg clearly remembered was that a minute after he did, Robin started shaking before he started to cry. Now that by itself was enough to make Cyborg fully regretful, buy when the crying turned into sobbing it completely threw him off and made him completely apologetic. Even after apologizing and talking about it, Robin still wouldn't talk to him for a couple days after that.
Now, the second time wasn't as bad but it was enough to still cause some worry in Cyborg. Robin had just gotten back from Gotham while it was past midnight and he looked horrible, which really wasn't unusual. Expect an hour after when he thought Robin had gone to bed there was a knock at his door, only to find himself greeted with a tear-stained face Robin standing there looking back at him. He'd had a nightmare, which became painfully clear very quickly. So Cyborg talked to him for a while about it. What cause the nightmare and what had woken him up, until they both fell asleep. Cyborg hadn't given it a second thought afterwards.
The third time was by far the worst he'd witnessed. It had gotten so bad that Batman had to step in.
One thing was clear.
Any mention of Slade was enough to send Robin into an episode, really bad ones at that. A month after the whole mind-control incident it was clear that even though they stopped Slade, everything was taking a toll on him. Each time someone brought him up Robin was sent into a screaming fit. He'd kick and scream and even cry; Cyborg hadn't seen anything like it. Sometimes he'd have a panic attack or it was even worse enough to make him vomit and Cyborg really hated seeing him like this. All of it was enough to also cause the team to worry, which ended with Batman keeping Robin in Gotham for a week. It did get better over the course of time but there were still signs of scars left to which Robin apologized profusely for, which Cyborg didn't fully understand. I wasn't like it did it on purpose.
Come to think it, Cyborg didn't understand why Robin's PTSD had been so bad. Sure, fighting criminals in Gotham was probably the answer, but why was it this painstakingly bad?
He'd have to have a chat with a certain bat.
