A/N: I'm trying to get myself away from the gutter for a while (believe me when I say I get enough every day). Not much to say to this. It's short, more or less angsty (I tried, I don't think I'm good at this :P) Also, I suck at Summaries and giving a proper title xD

Summary: Ashley is dead. How does Helen handle it?

Disclaimer: I do not own anything but if I would Ashley wouldn't be dead *pouts*

Breakdown

"Helen? Helen! Open the door! Please." Nikola shouted knocking on the door.

He was worried for her. Helen had been puzzled, upset and sort of depressed the whole day and he didn't like it so he had gone to check up on her. Nikola had to be sure she was at least better before he would go to sleep not that he would need it.

"Helen!"

When she still didn't reply Nikola decided to do something. He opened the door and took a look around. She wasn't here but when he stepped further into the room he heard water running. The shower. Nikola went to the bathroom door and knocked three times.

"Helen...Are you in there?"

Stupid question, of course she was. Again, Helen didn't answer but Nikola could have sworn he had heard sobs from inside. She would end him if he would open that door now but he didn't care so he just did it.

He carefully moved closer to the open shower. He found her sobbing form sitting in the corner. She had pressed herself against the wall and hugged her legs tight to her chest.

"My God, Helen..." Nikola whispered.

She finally looked up at him as if she only had noticed him now. Her eyes were red. Nikola wondered for how long she'd been crying like this. The hot shower it surely was when she went in was cold by now but Helen didn't notice. Neither did she notice just how much she was shaking and crying.

Nikola grabbed the next bigger towel he could find and gently wrapped her in it. Then he turned off the water and sat down next to her.

Helen instinctively placed her head on his shoulder and grabbed his arm hugging it. It was good to know that someone was there for her. She needed that now. Nikola sadly smiled down at her. That wasn't the Helen Magnus he knew.

He didn't need to ask why she was crying. He already knew and it wasn't too hard to guess anyway. Ashley was dead. Helen had lost her only child.

Nikola hold her closer and softly rubbed her back in a comforting manner.

"I'm sorry, Helen." He whispered against her hair.

Helen snuggled closer not being able to stop her tears from falling.

Nikola placed a light kiss on her hair. He would be there for her if she needed him just like now and ever before. Helen knew that and it gave her a save feeling. However save one could feel in her situation.

Helen calmed down after a while and the sobs made place for even breaths. She had fallen asleep at Nikola's side.

He smiled softly. The day had been hard and exhausting but he was glad to see her asleep. She needed to rest.

Nikola carefully lifted Helen in his arms and carried her to her bed. She clung onto his shirt when he lay her on the sheet. He took her hand in his and holding it he bent forward to give her another kiss on her forehead. She looked so exhausted and crushed. It broke Nikola's heart.

He let go of her hand to grab a close chair and placed it next to Helen's bed where he sat down. Her hand was soon back in his and he just watched her until he fell asleep as well.
