Author Note: I'm not really that big of a Twilight fan, but I adore Jacob. I think his inner turmoil is more heartbreaking than anything Edward or Bella could ever do to each other. Honestly, if he weren't a part of the story, I don't think I would have read it.

This poem is told from Jacob's POV, in New Moon.

The rain washed over us
in a flood.
Smudged your makeup
and made your hair wet.
You looked so beautiful, though.
Even though I had secrets to keep,
all I wanted was to
whisper them to you
at night.
Under sheets
where no one else could hear.
When he came back,
you stopped looking at me that way.
As if I suddenly had
all of these flaws
that you couldn't bear to see.
And if you had planned this
all along
then you might as well have crumpled me up
and burned me
with the rest of the trash.
