Baby Girl Von Trapp

Summary- Georg sees his Liesl for the first time.

December 15, 1921 was a marvelous day for Agathe and Georg Von Trapp. Their first daughter had been born. It was unexpected that their first bundle of joy came so early, though. Since, Agathe was due until early February.

But all was okay when Dr. Rainer pulled out a healthy 4 lb, 8 oz baby girl. "Oh, Georg, darling, she's perfect."

"She'll be something special," Georg said looking upon his first daughter.

"Do you two have a name picked out yet?" a young nurse came up to the happy couple and and asked.

"Not yet," Agathe calmy said never looking up from her baby.

"Well for now we will call her Baby Girl Von Trapp."

"You know, my Aggy, we will have to give her a name," he said nuzzling his head into her neck. "We can't just called her Baby Girl Von Trapp forever."

"Why not, Darling?" Agathe said cradling the baby.

"What if we have another baby and its a girl? Then what would we call her?"

"Baby Girl Von Trapp 2," she replied holding up the small life to Georg's level. "Georg, would you like to hold her?"

Georg slowly to the small swaddled child. "Hello there, my little girl. I'm your daddy," he said with tears of joy in his eyes. Could he and Aggy have really brough this into the real world? "Liesl."

"What, darling?"

"Liesl. It's the perfect name for her. I remember one of the old cadets in the war saying the Liesl means 'God's vow'. She seems like a vow to us. Liesl Agathe Von Trapp."

"Agathe?"

"Yes, my love. I would like it if the most beautiful thing I've ever created is named after the most beautiful girl I've ever known."

"Okay," Agathe said with a teary smile. "Liesl Agathe Von Trapp."

"My Baby Girl Von Trapp forever. No matter how old she gets or how many boyfriends she has. Always my baby. My beautiful Liesl." He kissed his little girl on the forehead and handed her to the nurse so Liesl could go to the nursery.
