Hello! I just finished The Walking Dead and this came up in my head (XD that rhymed). Anyways, enjoy!
Sunday Night
They were on the couch, watching the season finale of The Walking Dead. It was nearing midnight and the couple were halfway through it.
"Who do you think is going to die, Levi?" Petra looked up at him and watched his face turn into a scowl.
"I don't know...from the conditions they're all in, it's unpredictable." He made eye contact with her and his face slightly softened.
"Let's keep watching."
...
It was one of their Sunday night "traditions", watching that show. Petra thought it was a bonding time, she would ask who would be the one to die in every episode and Levi would answer. It was quite amusing to him and cute how she would always look up to see his reaction and then snuggle back in. By the time each episode ended, she would already be "too tired to move" and he had to carry her to the bedroom.
...
There was now about five minutes left and Petra was pressed up against him.
"You okay?" He glanced at her anxious form and couldn't help but smirk. Sometimes, she could take things very seriously and it always humored him.
"I'm fine, it's just that there is about five or six minutes left and no one has died. In the world of The Walking Dead, that's impossible...someone is going to die." She didn't look up at him, but kept her eyes glued to the screen. "I just hope it's not anybody I love."
Levi let out a quick, but quiet laugh. He watched the scenes on the TV play before him and thought about what his lover just said. She was right, of course. It's not possible for death to be evaded by any of the characters in The Walking Dead.
"Death is inevitable...in The Walking Dead and in reality."
...
The episode was coming to an end and one of the people from the group came in waving a long knife...drunk.
"Oh no." Petra breathed out. She grabbed the remote and pressed the button to lower the volume. Someone was trying to calm the drunkard down and Levi could see her fists were clenched tightly.
"Petra.."
"Shh!"
"But-"
Suddenly the sound and the scene of a throat being slit appeared and Petra let out a huge gasp. "NO."
She felt two strong arms encircle her waist and her whole body being pulled to his chest. The sound of screaming could be heard through the speakers and then a loud gunshot. Complete silence followed soon after.
"No." Petra said again, quieter this time. She looked at the remote in Levi's hand and then to the blank screen. "No." She whispered. Her hands went around his neck and she took a few deep breaths. Soon he was carrying her bridal style towards their room.
"That was surprising." He stated in a flat tone. His hands reached for the doorknob and they entered the dark bedroom.
"That was sad." Petra loosened her hold around his neck and let him lay her gently on the bed. He joined her under the covers soon after and she looked at him with a small smile on her face.
"What?" He frowned back and raised a hand to stroke her hair behind her ear. "What are you smiling about?"
She bit her lip and slightly shook her head. "Nothing." Her head leaned in and their lips met for a gentle kiss.
"And that concludes our Sunday night." She whispered while pulling away.
Levi smirked and raised an eyebrow. "Oh really?"
